Smile I want to stay motivated! Newbie needs buddy

Hi there!
I'm 34 years old and a mother of two, and I could really use a buddy to help keep me motivated and accountable! I enjoy working out, but I've been having a hard time sticking to the healthy diet I aspire to - cutting out the sugar and caffeine especially! I lost about 20 pounds last year when I tried a vegan diet for awhile, and I did enjoy it. I have 65 more to go.
Anyone interested in buddying up?

Hi,
This is my first post. I lost about 60+ lbs. but am currently at a stand still. I would be interested in buddying up if you like. I am 31 and 12 hour nights as a dispatcher with a police department. Need to get motivated again.

Have you all read Meg's Story and seen Meg's pictures?
If you hang around a while, you'll find she's an awesome encourager and a wonderful lady.
And her story and pictures??? .... I am inspired anew!

Hey ArcticAngel, you sound just like me! I am also 34 (will be 35 in July) and have two children. I also need to lose about 60 - 70 pounds. I joined here last year, and was seeing some results, but then my eating went to crap and I stopped exercising.

I think I have better motivation this time around. I am getting increasingly concerned that this extra baggage I am carrying around is impacting my health. I also have fewer excuses to use this time. (Last summer, my son was only a few months old and I was still breastfeeding so I excused some of my bad eating on the notion that I was burning extra calories by breastfeeding.)

Smile reply to "need a buddy"

Hi,
I read your post looking for a buddy and was wondering what kind of diet you are doing?? I am 42, I have to children 16 & 19 and I have lost weight over the years and gained it back. I don't want to give up until I have reached my goals. I have about 70-80lbs to loose. I have done alot of programs and am currently trying rice diet and possibly switching to South Beach. Rice diet is very very restrictive and I'm not sure I can stay on it for the long haul, although I learned alot on it. Need to start exercise program this week ( I have memberships to 2 gyms, long story)

Well, I've joined the Veggie Chicks group here and we're doing the Fuhrman diet. I haven't actually started yet - I'm starting on Monday (hahaha famous last words! No, but really...) This week I've been working on ending my caffeine and sugar addictions. Success! No coffee or other caffeine since Sunday, and I feel good!
