Question Questions for Turbo Jammers

Ok, I've read all the posts...I've checked out the website, and still not convinced that it really would do what it claims!

1) I've noticed that all these DVD's come in "Sets"....do you have to buy the entire set to get the results they claim, or can you just buy one DVD??

2) If you could choose only one DVD, which one would it be and why???

3) If you had never done anything like this before, did you find it easy to pick it up?

I can tell you the best thing I have ever done was order Turbo Jam. I've been exercising since I was in high school (I am 36 now) and I was doing Taebo for the last seven years. So I can't answer as far as the easy to pick up part since I was doing some kickboxing. It is different though but with the Learn & Burn, Chalene goes through the moves over and over that I think it would be easy to learn. Same with in her other workouts . . . I still make mistakes but as Chalene says "mistakes burn calories". Out of all my workouts that I have done from the Firm, to Cathe Friedrich, to Taebo, Denise Austin, Slim Series, Project You & Kathy Smith, etc. . . . This is by far the best and most fun - and the one I am reaching for every night I exercise.

I would FOR SURE order the first set, especially if this is new to you. It is cheaper in the long run and you can always sell the ones you don't like on ebay and make money. The only one I don't do as often of the first set is the Lower Body but I won't get rid of it. The Learn & Burn is a very important workout even though it is only 15 minutes. I still add it in every once in awhile. The 20 Minute is one of my favorite workouts. I also like Turbo Sculpt. Ab Jam is not bad and I do it - but ab workouts, even Turbo Jam's are not my favorite because I have a huge belly and it gets in the way . . . LOL

Chalene recommends ordering the sets as they come out and I know it's not because she wants people to buy them (although I know she does that too) - it's the intensity part of it too. I wouldn't have been able to do Cardio Party 3 if I hadn't learned Cardio Party 1 and 2 first. Some people don't like the Cardio Party's 1 & 2 - I do - they are great 40 minute workouts that burn 700 calories. Again, if you didn't like them, you can sell them and make your money back and probably some extra.

My new favorite is the Punch, Kick & Jam which is 50 minutes. I didn't think I would ever want to exercise for over 50 minutes ever again (I burnt myself on Cathe Friedrich exercising for 55 to 70 minutes 5-6 days a week for over a year) - it is a lot of fun and she has a longer stretching period at the end which I also like a lot.

No, you won't be able to get "results" with one video. You need the cardio and a sculpting one for sure.

I wouldn't be able to pick just one because I like them all for different reasons - it would be way too hard. I really would recommend buying the first set and going from there. You could do that and skip to the newest set much easier then buying say a Cardio Party 1 and doing that for the first time without ever doing a TJ video again. It might not be pretty.

Someone mentioned on the other post that they are selling for cheap on Ebay. My thought is that they might be copies but it's worth checking out.

Good luck! I hope you try TJ - it really was the best thing I ever could have done. Rachelle

I bought and did all the ones in the original set... at first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do the Cardio Parties but then I broke down and did them... now I don't use any of the other ones... I only use Cardio Party 1 and 2... I bought the individual titles from beachbody and am getting ready to sell my set... have I seen results? YEAH... but the rotation they recommend (doing 45 minutes or more for 5 days a week) was a bit too much for me. If you could manage it, then you might see the results they say... I know that in a month and a half of doing them only 3-5 times a week, and going on a portion control diet, I have lost 12 lbs. The workout alone wasn't doing it, the eating right was what made it really start working. I am getting ready to order the Maximum results set, I have heard they are better than the first set... try this discount code... I think it gets you 30% off the first set and 20% off the new set... TJHPV34HTY ... Oh, and about picking up the moves.... You do not need the beginner Dvds for that.... you will be going along just like everyone else on the video in a few attempts... and if you can't do it all at first, fine, work up to it... do 20 mins, then 30, then 45... I was suprised when I did the whole 45 mins... I got really emotional and alost cried... I didn't think I would be able to do it for a long time so it suprised me. Hope you love it, it is the only workout that I don't ever dread. And the music, well, it really is motivating and very low on the cheesometer. Later!

I would love to know how you find more. I just got the started set after reading all the wonderful comments and can find no links to any other sets. By the way the cheapest deal is QVC - it lets you pick your method of shippment and is $10. cheaper that Beachbody. Ebay is very competative so no good deals there - as a matter of fact I see people paying more individually than if they bought the set of 5 with the 6th bonus dvd. I did the first workout and it really is more inspiring and fun with the music than Tae Bo.

Thumbs up Go for it!

TJ is awesome...I don't think you'll be disappointed. I hate I waited as long as I did before purchasing. IMO, the QVC deal is the best buy at the moment...besides, their return policy is good, just in case you decide it's not for you. I talked with BB customer service and you can order individual workouts by calling them (individuals are not available via their website)...BUT, it will cost you more per DVD. I haven't seen any good deals on eBay.

I've only been working out for a week, but it's definitely something that I'll look forward to doing for a long time. I lost 2 lbs. this week...didn't just stick to healthy foods, but did limit portion sizes. A couple of my co-workers have already noticed the change and asked if I was loosing weight. I do have to tell you that I have quite a bit of weight to lose and this may be the reason why I lost 2 lbs. in one week without dieting.

Good luck!

Smilla, I have 60 lbs. to lose myself...so I'm no stick figure (LOL). The set of DVDs that I bought from QVC has a "learn & burn" workout that will teach you the moves, plus give you a mini workout afterwards. It's moves a bit slower than the other workouts, but still makes me sweat. Chalene states that you can stick with this one until you feel comfortable enough to move on. I would suggest you buy from QVC...then if it's not do-able for you or if you absolutely hate it, you can send it back for a full refund. (HTH)
