Default I'm new and would love a buddy!

Hello!

I'm 25 years old and live with my husband who is fantastic. Unfortunately I don't have a job right now, and I think that's part of why I'm having so much trouble :/
I was on WW last year, and I did great. But I stopped. Now I'm trying to get back on and, eh, not so great. I'm having a really hard time of it >_< Just sitting around the house it's hard not to just pick up a snack. And I'm having trouble finding healthy foods that I like. I really want to do this - need to really.
I am looking for a job - I think that'll make a big difference

I'm glad to have found this board though, you all seem very supportive!

Hi! I too am currently unemployed, and that makes it VERY tough! I sit around all day with food readily available. It's so easy to just reach for something to munch!

My best piece of advice is to have pre-portioned healthy snacks readily available! That way it's easier to grab and snack on something good for you! (Carrots, Celery, etc!) If you're doing WW, I always have a jug of 0 pt soup available too! That REALLY helps!

Welcome to 3FC, this is a great website for support!

Maybe you should try getting out of the house. Go for a walk, to the park, go to the bookstore. Just try to keep yourself busy. I don't know if you like puzzles, I personally love them, once I start doing one I forget what's around me, even food! Just pick something you love to do, something that has nothing to do with food.

As far as food, take baby steps if you need to. Switch from regular to low fat or reduced fat versions of the same. WW has a great veggie soup that's 0 pts, always great to have around.

Drink plenty of water too, that helps you feel full too.

Best of luck to you!

Welcome to the 3FC. I can relate to be unemployed right now. I am looking, but not having very much luck. I would really settle for a part-time job so I can still stay home with my daughter some during the week. It's hard having food within your reach. I tend to eat when I am bored. I try to occupy myself with the computer playing games, chatting with friends or posting here on the forum. I try to keep water by my side and drink it and it does help. Plus it helps that we are still trying to get on our feet after moving almost 1300 miles from Vermont to Iowa. We still don't keep much food on hand because we are just trying to get by. So I am lucky that I don't have alot of junk food around the house otherwise I am sure I would chow it down.

What kinds of fruits and veggies do you like? I keep baby carrotts on hand at all times. I like to munch on them when I feel hungry. A couple of those and the feeling goes away. Plus my 4 year old loves them. DO you like yogurt? I buy it every week. It seems some brand is on sale for either 10/$5 or 10/$4. I get 10 and it lasts me pretty good. There's also those little 100 calorie packs. I haven't tried them personally.

Good luck and if you care to chat just give me a hollar.

Annie

Thank you for all the replies and support!

I like the idea of having healthy, proportioned snackes available - I'm going to have to try that Also, got to find the recipe for that 0 point soup!
