Default Starting over 4/23

Yup, I'm starting over. Last summer, I lost 20 pounds on SB. While not at my ideal weight, circumstances occurred that I let get in the way of my not staying on the beach 100%. I managed however to fluctuate just a pound or two until this March. First a vacation that presented alot of challenges (I'll leave it at that), followed by the sudden death of my mom 3 weeks ago. Since then, my eating has been semi-out of control and have been consuming way too many high carb/sugar items and not enough veggies and I've put 5 pounds back on. Physically I feel like you know what, compared to how I felt when I was sticking with the program. My hubby and I are going to start back on Sunday (he's lost 40 pounds on SB). Thanks for letting me get this off my chest and out in the open.

Contratulations on starting over

I am sorry about your loss with your mom. I lost my dad when I was 19 and I know exactly how you feel. I don't know when I stopped picking up the phone to tell him something.

welcome, gecko! So sorry about your mom. One of my student's mom died suddenly last week and I can only imagine what the two of you are going through. We're here for you and the SBD will make, at least your body, feel a little better! Welcome.

Good job on starting over while you have still maintained most of your weight loss. So sorry about your mom. I know how hard this is, I lost my mom 10 yrs. ago and it's still hard sometimes. My dad passed away when I was only 12 yrs. old.

Default Starting Over Again... Is anyone with me?

It has been months and more months since I have been here. I am ashamed to say that I have put back on about 25 pounds since last summer. I am jumping in cold turkey tomorrow.

From experience I know I need lots of support. My husband is doing it with me, but you ladies are what really keeps me honest.

I am really happy to be back.

Default Just starting - please analyze my day of eating

Actually, it's my first day...AGAIN. I've been trying to do this for weeks and weeks and have been unsuccessful. First, I was eating regular bacon at lunch on a salad - found out that's not allowed. Then, I wasn't drinking much water. Then, eating way too much peanut butter or fudgesicles. I am always craving, or just HUNGRY. I only want to lose 10 lbs. Is this really bad? I eat a lot of snacks.

DAY 1

Breakfast
2 eggs with salsa, 1 oz lowfat cheddar, 2 oz chicken
2 cups half caf coffee
2 tablespoons sugar free nondairy creamer (vanilla caramel)

Lunch
South Beach Kung Pao Chicken
Peanut Butter/Ricotta Cream (1 teaspoon pb)

Dinner
South Beach Savory Beef w/Cheesy Broccoli frozen meal
1 cup steamed broccoli with 3 TINY dots of trans-fat free margarine

Snacks
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 fudgesicle
1 cup half caf coffee w/splash nonfat milk, 1 sweet n low
1 cup tea with sweet n low
2 scrambled eggs with salsa (hungry at 9pm)

Hi everyone! I'm just starting phase 1 for the first time. I'm a total newbie to SBD and my plan is to do Phase 1 for a month since I have so much to lose. I just hope I cross the craving hurdles with all my pieces still intact! LOL!

Cool

Hi! I am starting phase one for the third time tomorrow. I have a real problem with sugar and South Beach really addresses that issue. I am a binge eater and have really been having a hard time over the past several weeks. I have about 15lbs to loose but the scale keeps going the wrong way. Well here goes

First time on SB and I'm hopeful. Dr recommended I try it as I couldn't lose after over 1 year on LA weight loss. I'd been on prednisone and it stalled me. Now I'm just discouraged. Need to lose at least 25, 40 would make me happy.

My question is breakfast. What do you eat besides eggs? I have trouble because I am not a morning eater and have trained myself to eat cereal and fruit. some eggs. Just wondered. I'm browsing the boards to get some more hints. This is day 2 for me and I'm already hungry which I know shouldn't be. Good news is I'm down 2 lbs from yesterday!

Hi, New Beachers, and welcome to the group. Be sure to read the stickies in the FAQ Section for hints and ideas.

Breakfast is a problem because we do get sick of eggs.

Check out some of the protein shake recipes in the Recipe Section - milk IS allowed on Phase I now and you can make a yummy shake with it, cottage cheese and pasteurized egg whites!

You also need to think outside the box. Some folks eat supper leftovers for breakfast. I've been known to have pea soup or leftover taco bake! Nobody ever said breakfast had to be eggs!

Check out this thread in the FAQ section.

Once again !
