Default New from Texas

I'm so excited to have found this site. Weight loss has been a constant struggle for me but I've gotten serious this time. I'm 32, married 13 years in June, a full time student, baby sit in the afternoon to help earn some money, and I have a 9 year old son. I guess I don't have to tell anyone I'm a busy woman. I started the Curves diet a little over a month ago, but found it a pain. I don't like counting calories or carbs and then I discovered South Beach. Very similar yet no counting. I love it actually. I feel great and don't feel like I'm dieting which is so important to me. I'm walking every other day. I'm at 40 minutes right now but pushing myself each time. I started at 225 and as of this morning I'm at 211. My goal is 160, but I just take it 5lbs at a time and find it so much easier. I'm looking forward to meeting some you guys and sharing our ups and downs.

Hey Yllwrose, we have a lot in common! I'm a 37 year old mom of 3, I just went back to school a year ago to study nursing, I work almost full time and I've been married for 16 years. Busy, busy, busy!!! And my Mom wonders why I never call! I have no time at all for weight watchers meetings or anything that requires that you go there to check up! I have tried South Beach. Good food! I've been walking too. Right now I think I'm at about a half hour every morning. I tell you my dog thinks I'm the best right now(she gets to go too).
Been at it for almost a week. I haven't weighed in yet though so we'll see.
Another fun idea. I bought my kids one of those dance pads for their x-box, and now after they leave for school I make sure no one is looking and I go down and do that Dance dance revolution game. I'm really bad at it but what a blast and you can pick them up cheep (used ones) at GameStop. That's if they have GameStop or something like it in TX. Good luck to you and keep up the good work!!
