Default General Diet Help

Hey Guys!!

I am new to this, but I have a question... I am trying to lose weight (Duh!) I was wondering what kind of diets anyone has tried?? I have looked at South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, etc... But they have all left me hungry or feeling like I am with out. I don't like the idea of cutting out a source of food. I want to do this the healthy way, but I teach... and I am busy ALL day. I need some good, quick meal ideas that don't take a lot of preparation.
HELP!!! PLEASE!!

I'd love to help. Tell me what you ate today and what you did for activities. It's all about eating less and moving more. And when are you going grocery shopping?

I did Atkins - that last a week or so. Sure I lost weight; couldn't stick to it so I gained the wait back right away.
I did Slim Fast - same as Atkins - lost the weight couldn't stick to it.
I did Weight Watchers - awesome programs, but I HATE counting points. It was always OMG how many points and you pull you thing out and had to figure it out... etc

And then I found calorie counting - everything has the calories listed right on the package and so many foods are low in calories. It is working for me AND it is something I can stick to for the rest of my life. If i want that chocolate cake it is not going to cost me 10 of 25 points in one day. I work it into my calories and just have a bit and it only uses a couple hundered and I cut back somewhere else.

I have a lot added a lot more exercise into my day (and slowly adding more) - I am sure it helps but if anything it makes me feel better.

There are lots of good quick meal ideas! One thing I found was Campbells Chunky Soup - prob a bit high in sodium - but if you buy the right ones you are looking at 3-5 grams of fat and 200-300 calories for the whole can! Add some toast and you have a yummy, quick, low cal dinner. Maybe not the BEST choice but okay.

Salad Mix - take out of the bag, put in a bowel, add some dressing, maybe some meat, shrimp, tuna. Sandwitchs (made on whole weat bread of couse), wraps, bake some chicken in the oven and make enuf for a couple days... etc.

GOOD LUCK!

Prepacked foods are not very good for us on a regular basis. It's so easy to do your meals on the weekend and freeze them for quick dinners during the week. If you would do WW Core you would find there are no points to count unless you eat junk. Of course, it does require some preparation and not many prepackaged frozen foods. But then, being healthy is well worth it.

The WW Core plan is an excellent plan! You can eat as much of you want as the foods on the list, and they are WONDERFUL Foods! No counting needed! (But you do get the 35 "bonus" points a week, for if you eat something OFF plan.

There you are! I was wondering where you'd gone. You seemed so 'beside yourself' the other day. I'm glad you came back.
Are you done your school year soon?

I won't say a word. If I have a few minutes I come to 3fc while I'm at work too. Get that computer at home fixed and stay in touch. This is my lifeline to sanity some days
