Hi there all you Thin Wannabee's. We just got back last Tuesday night late from our cruise and had a wonderful time. It was all that I dreamed and more. In case some of you didn't know but our 4 wonderful grown kids decided that for our 30th anniversary we needed to take a cruise, since we had never ever been on one, much less our of the country either. So we went and spend a couple of days before and after with my brother and his wife in Boca Raton, Florida and went out of Fort Lauderdale with Celebrity Cruise Lines. We had such fun, for 7 days I didn't have to cook, make the bed or do anything at all. We ate great fancy meals and we even dressed up a couple of nights, I took the mother of the bride dresses for both my daughters wedding and Ken wore his suit and tie and we cleaned up pretty good.
We really liked Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Couzemel and Costa Maya, Mexico a lot. Jamaica was really pretty, but kinda scary. Everyone harassed you to buy everything, but we just said no and kept on walking. LOL That took care of that. I went snorkeling, fed the string rays and went to a banana plantation and a bird sancuary and actually got to feed the hummingbirds in Jamaica, they came to our finger and we fed them from a bottle and what a thrill that was I tell you.
But we are home and glad to be here, gained some weight, maybe 5 or 6 pounds, but it was well worth it and I figure how often do you get to do this? The first few days I went to the gym and worked out and walked and tried to avoid some good things, but our waiter kept bringing extra deserts and othe entree's for us to try and finally I said the heck with it and had to have a taste. But the good news is I almost got it all off already, just a pound or two to go.
Missed you guys a lot.
CJ-Thanks for the Easter email, I loved it. Oh good swimsuit challenge, I will have to join in. Summer is a coming isn't it? Hope you had a great time with you cute grandaughter. I am sure she loved having her Grandma spend some time with her. That is great that your sister could be with you too. I missed you and love you much.
AnnieFannie-Did you get that job you applied for? I hope so and will keep my fingers crossed for you. So how does your apartment look with your furniture in it? I'll bet great, thank goodness for parents that are getting all new furniture eh? Hope you are doing well and getting things done around your new place. Thanks for the well wishes on our cruise. Wished I could have went with all of you guys, wouldn't we have a blast?
Missy W-How goes it with you? Don't worry about your 5 pounds, look at me I gained more than that on my cruise and I didn't even worry about that. Vacations and holidays are a way of life and all we can do is enjoy them and get when they are over get right back on the wagon so to speak. I am sure by now you are on your way and have a fresh start. Let today be a new beginning for both of us. I have to weigh today at my WW meeting and not looking forward to that, but will take it on the chin. LOL Yes we had a great trip and ready to go back again one of these days when we have some extra money laying around, which isn't too likely. How did your women's retreat go? I hope it went well for you.
Becky Jo-You are doing so well on your program. I too try to go to Curves almost every single day. I too love the great woman there, we talk and it makes the time go by so much faster. Good for you helping our your sister in law, it will pay off in the end. See it is already your husband is being so nice to you.
teahoney-It sounds like you are on your way to a brand new you. That is great that you are so fired up about this. It will pay off in he end, with a brand new you. I too am glad the weather is getting better, I love to walk outside in he fresh air whenever I can.
Sherry-Hey girlfriend, got your emails about your move and glad things are working our for you and your family. You may be closer to me from Indiana to Tennesee now. Post when you have a few and let us know how you are doing. I would imagine you are so busy now, with all the unpacking and everthing else. Love and miss you!
Sylvia-Oh my gosh is that really you? I have missed you so very much. That is great that you lost so much weight. You are just like me, I was so tired of just not doing anything year after year, but this will be our year and everyone elses too. We all need to take care of ourselves and make ourself important too. There is only one us after all. I will have to try that balsamic vinegar, I think I have some in the frige, it sounds great. Glad that Nico is getting so ig and is a healthy little boy, I am sure he brings you so much joy in your life. Sure give me a call anytime, I would love to hear your wonderful voice.
Oh I forgot to tell you that my husband, Ken did so well on the cruise with his hand and foot injury. He actually was able to get into some regular shoes/sandals for the trip. In fact he took he tape off his toes and I even stepped on his boo boo foot on the airplane when I went to get out to go to the restroom and he said it didn't even hurt. LOL Also his hand is healing nicely and by he end of the trip he was able to cut his own meat, even though he did it backwards he did it. He went to the doctors when we came back and they said he has lots of scar tissue built up and he may need some additional surgery in a couple of months so he can move his fingers better, we will see. He is in good spirts and wants to be able to use his right hand so much. He is back to work and doing well and compensating, having to use is left hand on the computer. He just started a new job with the same company and his stress level is much less now and he seems happier. This job will take him into retirement in maybe 4 or 5 years.
Well guys better get off here and get some things done. Take care everyone and missed you guys like crazy.
Love you, Sassy Sharon
