Default Buyer Beware

Hey everyone, I wanted to tell you if you see the famous Beach Body comercials and you are tempted to buy. DON'T! I did and what a mistake. I have been going around and around with the company. They charged over $200.00 to my credit card for merchandise I did't order nor have I received. It is now 8 months later and my bank is still fighting with the company to get my money back. They are crooks, watch out.

I've heard that this is actually fairly common with stuff that's sold on TV.

The companies that produce the items aren't necessarily at fault, but the companies that market them on TV are often run by scam artists. Right now, I'm seeing a lot of infomercials for some exercise DVDs I'd love to buy, but I'm waiting till they show up in local stores or on Amazon. Buying them from the TV seller just isn't worth the risk.

I used to take calls for stuff like that.

Most of it's a "scam" in the sense of the way that they word things. So if you ever order something from TV listen VERY carefully to what the operator is saying. Don't believe what the commercials say because there's a trick to it. And don't get mad at the operator for simply reading his or her script.

I ordered Yoga Booty Ballet (from Beachbody, the company) online and the worst result is routine marketing e-mails. So I'm guessing if you want it (and I have heard good things about their Slim in Six exercise program), order it online. Or from eBay, where it'll probably be cheaper.

I was at Target and I found Slim and 6. So don't buy it on line.

The ones they sell in the store I don't believe are the full package you would get with buying it directly from Beachbody. I have been really lucky (knocking on wood) but there are many that have not. I've had to contact customer service once as they didn't have my discount but they made it right and another time when I purchased Project You and they came in the broken case & had scratched CD's. They sent me a new one right away. I have always ordered online though.

It has been said alot on their message boards that their customer service isn't the greatest. Hopefully they will change and improve that because they do have great products.

Turbo Jam will be on QVC April 25th - I don't know what kind of package will be offered but if you are interested in that program, it would be worth checking out. I know that is how I've ordered Taebo in the past - much cheaper shipping.

Yup, I saw some Slim in Six DVDs at Target so that's where I'd probably get them. I'll keep that heads-up in mind since I've been considering buying Yoga Booty Ballet and order it from eBay or somewhere else...
