Default New to Sonoma

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello. I am new to this sonoma diet and the forum thingy. I really like the concept of this diet. I have the hardest time with sweets and being able to control binge eating. I hope to learn a new way of eating and living. Any tips or advice would be greatly accepted.

Welcome! I am new to this forum myself. It sounds as if we have similar vices and are about the same place with our goals. Maybe we can help cheer each other on?

Nice to meet you.

I'm new as well. Definitely need to set up a buddy system. I hope this diet works. I just recently did the 6 day body makeover and it made NOTHING HAPPEN!!! Except water weight loss. So far I'm on day 3. A little hungry but overall not to bad.

Smile Keep your head up

Hi channycat, dont get discouraged over the first week. Keep your head up and remember that this is a long term weight loss plan not a quick over night fix. By the way welcome to the forum. Have a great day everyone hope to hear from y'all soon. Lets help eachother stay motivated.

A quick check-in.... My jump-start to this is idling. Haven't been able to quite toss out the bad foods in my fridge, although most of those consist of fruits. Triggers exist at work now! Through all the stress of our program being closed and my team members having to seek other jobs, we have one coworker who "cooks" and brings goodies to help "ease" the stress. I think the one perk to finding a new job is to not be directly in the line of temptation!

Well I got on the scale this am and I'm down two. Not bad. Probably water weight but it's weight off!!! I'd love to lose 15. Doesn't seem like much but I'm SHORT!!!! So five lbs looks like 10 on most people. Solocat......my big temptation is rye crisp with a little peanut butter (natural) and a few extra nuts. Who the heck decided 7 walnuts.

Or 11 almonds?! I was looking at the menus for Wave 1 and thought, oh cool, 33 almonds! Then realized that was the serving size for a man!

Hey everyone hope all is well. I am doing better with the sweet tooth...have been sweets free for 2 days lol and I am down 3lbs

Cathy its been hard for me too to get everything out of the fridge. I know where you are coming from with the co workers bringing comfort food in. I just try to remember that I cant keep on eating the sweets and junk if I want to reach my goal....that is sooooo hard for me.

Channycat dont give up look at every pound lost is one closer to the goal soon you will be looking back at 14 pounds gone with only one to go just hang in there.

Take care everyone talk to ya soon

Hi there--I am transitioning to Sonoma; have been a WW Lifetimer for about 17 months but a little weight crept back on. In general, I can conquer weekends if I plan ahead and keep a lot of structure to my meals/snacks. If I sleep in, let a breakfast time creep into lunch or skip an afternoon snack, things go downhill fast.

I am coaching my daughter's soccer team and it starts next Saturday. So that's at least one weekend workout session taken care of!

Hi all,
I've just begun this Diet, too. Giving up sweets isn't a problem. I don't like the sound of doing without fruit for 10 days!!!!! Also, I must have my calcium so I'm having an extra glass of skim milk.

Almonds-----I bought a bag yesterday. Do you eat them straight from the bag or do you put them in the oven like the book suggests? Which tastes better? I didn't know they had lots of calcium.

I'm glad to find this thread.

Welcome, Tina! Are your almonds raw? If they are, I would toast them because I think the flavor is better. I buy dry-roasted almonds from Trader Joe's (roasted without any oil and thus added fat) and I get the 50% less salt. I like a little salt, brings out the flavor!
