Default putting my foot down

OK!!!! Soooooooooooooooooo,

as of today I am putting my foot down. No more chocolate, no more cookies. No ice cream! I am giving you the junk. STAMPED IT, NO ERASIES!!!

I was thinking today, what is holding me back from doing this...I have wanted to do this for a while. whats holding me back? well, the declining of the goodies...I don't want to be rude so what do i say when I am offered dessert. Or asked to go out for ice cream with friends etc...???

i always get "are you sure?"---my reply is yes, I am sure... then I get the OOOOO KKKKKKKK!!??!! hahaha

I feel rude stating that " I am not eating 'that kind of stuff' "--I feel like they think I am criticizing them...
But I need to put mu foot down if I am going to reach my goal.

any advice--feel free to put you 2 cents in!

perhaps you could say that you already ate, and maybe you could go to a movie/park/museum... or get them to go to a cafe with you, where you can get a skim or soy milk coffee?

Just say you're ok for now, but you might have some later... Then they won't feel offended or think that you're "being healthy". Hopefully they'll forget about it!

its true, my friends are constantly offended if I don't have "their food" or get something that would make their plates look arsenic.

"No thanks, I'm full," is a pretty good option. It's a way to turn down food without implying that the food doesn't meet your standards, and without making yourself sound like a martyr to your diet. Someone else on this forum (sorry I can't remember who) recently suggested saying, "No, thanks, I'm all set," which is another good way of putting it.
