Default FitDay Question...Help!

I just purchased Fitday PC, and it says that I burn 2, 891 calories per day (Digestion at 301 calories per day, Background Activity - Seated some Movement - 3, 012 calories per day) So that isn't counting additional intentional exercise...

It also says that to acheive my goal weight I should restrict my calories by 750 per day, and that I can eat 2, 141 calories per day to acheive my goal weight on time (135lbs by August 8, 2007 - 70 weeks) at a rate of 1.5lbs/wk.

It all seems a bit high to me..how can I lose 1.5lbs per week eating 2141 calories per day? I don't even know if I can eat that much and keep it healthy....

Help!

One thing I noticed with fitday is you have to input your sleep time. If you do not it counts you as burning calories as if you were awake for 24 hours a day...see if that helps with the numbers. To lose 1 lb a week you need to create a 3500 calorie deficit so like 500 less per day. If you go to shape.com or self.com they have calculators that will tell you how many calories you need to maintain your current weight. Just subtract your 500 (for 1 lb) or 1000 (for 2) and go from there.

Fitday's calculator (and any other online calculator or chart) is just a ballpark figure. It may be too high or even too low for you depending on YOUR body and metabolism. Try eating around that amount for a couple weeks and see how it goes, and then adjust accordingly

And I've heard that fitday is quite inaccurate the higher your weight. If you intend to use that feature (lots of folks don't) you'll certainly have to fiddle with it. I set my activities at the lowest level and then entered everything I did (including sleep). After a while, you'll find that every day comes out to about the same so you can change the level to reflect what you've found and no longer need to add ... sleeping, showering, doing dishes, hanging the clothes on the line etc.
On the other hand ... there are folks who do not use that feature. They use fitday only to track their foods and just make sure they move more for sure.
