Angry Crazy Dog

So Buddy, My 2.5 yo Black Lab has discovered that My glasses are his new favorite snack. Earlier this week, He chewed the frames of my new black glasses that I just bought a couple months ago.

Then in the middle of the night, He got a hold of my older glasses and chewed them! Not to mention, he already ate my retainer. Now mind you, I keep these things out of his reach...or so I thought.

Anyone else have a crazy K-9?

I have a looney bluetick hound dog! He has an unstoppable appetite for bread. Yesterday he learned how to scale the babygate that has been keeping him out of the kitchen for months and ate two loaves of bread that my mom bought from Costco (they currently have custody because my apartment doesn't allw pets). We're tried everything. He also will steal green peppers off the counter. While drinking coffee, it has to be sat at least 5 feet off the ground otherwise he will find away to drink it out for the cup. He has also mastered the skill of climbing all fours onto the kitchen table when no one is paying attention, which is really annoying because it then needs cleaned, and we can't keep anything on it.
So, now that the baby gate doesn't work, my parents don't know what to do. He's the sweetest dog, but GRR. Is he bad!

This might not be fun or pratical, but before you go to bed, touch some tabasco sauce on your glasses frames, and wash it off the next day. It might break the habit if they taste bad to the dog

I have a spoiled Jack Russel who wants to be carried around like a baby. Whimpers and stretches up trying to get me to pick her up,,,she even makes whiney noises....
But the thing that drives me nuts is her eating, she doesn't like any dog food,,,which is all she does get other then carrots. She loves her dog treats to the point thats all she wants... I will be walking by the kitchen and see the light on in the pantry (light sensors) and find her sitting in there leaning up again the shelf that holds her treats,,,when she sees me she makes a point of making these huge sighs...lol shes sucha drama queen

How funny...bet there are lots of funny tales of others dogs out there. And it's funny what dogs will eat!

Our dog loves pancakes! And like your skittles Angie, Ernie wants to fill up on dog treats. He quit eating dry food a few years ago and I cannot get him to eat it at all now. Will only eat Caesars (sp?) and then want to fill up on dog treats. He also thinks that every time he goes out and comes back in he is going to get a treat. The dog goes out and turns around and comes back in and sits there waiting for a treat! But he doesn't eat anything around the house or do anything crazy though.

Anyway, my dog (Missy) before him was crazy! That dog would eat anything! She too liked pancakes and would bury them and then dig them up and eat them, ick! She loved cantaloupe and just about anything DH would give her. She ate her doghouse! Yes, ate it, not just chewed it but ate it! IT had a roof and fancy trim around the front of it and she ate it off. The arched doorway...she had started eating it. I am talking about a wood doghouse. Guess she needed more fiber in her diet! One time the wind was blowing and a plastic grocery bag flew over our fence and before I could get out there and get it it was in her pen and and she had started eating it...she ate the whole bag. Never threw anything up or choked on anything, luckily. I hated that we had to keep her in a pen and only let her out somtimes but the dog would eat anything in the backyard. And someone left the gate open once and she got out and man what a time we had catching her. A very hyper dog. When we first got her as a puppy, our intentions were to have her as an inside dog but soon found out that was not to be. Geez, we wouldn't have had a house left.

Christina, oh ya Skittles does that too, she walks outside,,,sits on the deck,,,sniffs the air then comes back in and waits by the pantry door. And has the nerve to give you the look like whats keeping you? I need my treat.
Forgot also, when I come home from shopping she attacks the bags looking for treats,,,I made the mistake of buying her a ceasars as I would buy the family each a treat she would get one too. Well now she doesn't wait for me to put groceries away.

I have been a lab owner for 15 years and I have 2 words for you, DOG CRATE
Labs mature the slowest of all the breeds, somwhere around 3 to 3.5 and frankly ome never do until they hit the senior years, and they will eat anything anytime. When people ask me why , I imple explain that the cost of a crate (less than $100) is far less than the cost of what you will have to fix or replace.

The other thing, an I am not assuming I promiss, it that a tiered dog is a happy owner, a board dog is an unhappy owner.
I have lots of experiance training dogs, one of my many past (and current lives with an 8 month old pup)

Im a mom of a 10 year old black lab, and I can attest, that they never grow up, but he's nothing like my 5 year old golden, now theres a dog that loves paper, all paper, including toilet paper on the roll !! And the 6 year old toy poodle, will eat anything that the others eat for fear that they are getting something that he's not!! Oh and the fish food out of the pond, geesh the poor fish are so traumitized, anytime they see even a shadow over the water they run and hide, of course I guess I would too, if I had a big hairy head come in for my food!! But they bring so much joy dont they?!

So I think I have it figured out. He went to the vet last week and he is like 12 lbs overweight. So we went by the docs orders and have been doing what he said to lower his food intake.

Buddy has been getting sick the past couple of days...heres why: he ate 3 pair of panties and at least 3 socks, whole. He is hungry.

Thanks for the Suggestions LL14S: We have owned a crate since we took him in and we do crate him...he sneaks off and does this in seconds while we are home or leave for 2 seconds. He is also spoiled and walked/run with 3 times a day and played with every waking moment lol...So I truely feel that he is lashing out b/c he is hungry. I think I would rather up his food intake than lose my garments .

I am the owner of a psychotic 6 month old boxer puppy. He is addicted to water. He has flooded my house twice by stopping up the tub and then turning it on ALL day. His new favorite trick is not to drink the water out of the toilet, but to go paws first and bounce because he likes the splashing. I have to keep the bathroom doors shut at all times (even when I am in the shower, because he will jump in with me.) I left him for the weekend with my best friend. One night, he ripped all the mini blinds down and destroyed them. Ripped up and ate part of the hardwood floor, and my personal favorite, got hold of a box of thumbtacks and spread them on the floor in front of my friends bedroom door. My friend opened the door in the morning, saw the damage to the floor, took a big step out of his room and landed barefeet first on the thumbtacks. Needless to say, Lennox has not been invited back to visit!

Ok so if it i a hungry issue, you can used canned pumpkin as a filler, It is low in calories and will give your pup the full feeling. Start out slowly, but if your dog is anything like mine he has an stomach of iron and should be able to handle it.

I don't know what you are feeding and I am not making any assumpitons, again, but swiching to a hight quality dog food, something in a holistic would alo improve some things for you. Same as people, better food better results.

My last suggestion to you would be to provide lots of good things to chew on, marrow bones are a favorite, kongs stuffed with veggies and filled with chicken stock and frozen can do wonder, rope toys soaked in chicken stock and frozen are good. Even though dogs like toys, they like flavor too and this may save a pair of shoes for you at best and surgery to remove something at worse.

I do love having a puppers around the house, I love that she makes me smile everyday even if I don't want to

I have two black labs, Sissy is a mix w/shepard and Jake is all lab. Sissy is very well behaved, unless she is upset about something or misses us, she will chew on the furniture. But Jake is a different story, he eats everything too, I got them those rope toys and he ate the rope and pooped it out, as the rope toy! I bought them the "indestructable" toy, and of course, it was destroyed within 30 minutes. (see if I ever pay $15 for a chew toy again!)
I now only get them those big bones full of marrow that they chew on for days and days. Jake tries to keep them both and growls at Sissy when she tries to get her bone from him. He is so stingy I take Sissy running with me most days, and take Jake from time to time. He is very strong and its usually a dragging match, me being drug behind him, so I dont get a very good run in! They are both so smart though and I love them to pieces, even though they do things that I wish they wouldnt and eat things I never knew could be eaten, they brighten my days and keep my feet warm at night when I am sleeping
