Default May I join you?

Hi,ya'll. I've been looking over some of the groups on this site, and this looks like the one for me-IF you'll have me, that is!One thing, though- I'm computer illeterate, so you may have to overlook my occassional faux paux! Anyhow, I've been diagnosed for the past 8 years-started out NIDDM, but was informed a little over a year ago as a true type one (my cup runneth over).I've been using a pump for about 8 months now, which is much more conveinent and discreet (I don't have to hide in the bathroom when we go out to eat to shoot up anymore), but also makes it very easy to gain weight.I've lost the 7 lbs my MD says I gained last year(plus 5 more),but it ain't been easy and there's lots more to go.I'm a nurse who works nights, which makes it difficult for me to jibe with the rest of the world, but I might have a little info for those of you with no medical background.Anyway, I hope you'll have me,even though I am truly Southern and don't know the meaning of "short and sweet"!! Thanks for considering me. Amazedone from Tennessee

Amazedon, you are certainly welcome to join us ... and we can use some medical insight occasionally. Feel free to post anytime. I'm a transplanted Yankee (Ohio) that moved to Virginia 14 years ago...and love it! Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks so much for the welcome!Sorry I didn't get back on sooner, but about all I do during my work "week" is sleep and work. 13 hours with 31 psychotic inmates{I work on the acute psyche ward at our state prison} really takes it out of you.I've been doing the Adkin's Diet for about a month now,and I've managed to lose 18 lbs so far.My blood sugars have been much better, and I feel much better.I guess my endo would stroke out if he knew what I'm doing- and I'll tell him if he asks, but I'm not going to bring it up on my own.I am being careful.Anyhow-I'd like to know what plan you're following, and how well it's working.Hope to here from you soon!Amazedone
