Default Heart pains

Just curious if maybe someone has gone through something like this, I have asthma and have been on advair forever to help control it but lately I have been having these really tight pains in my heart that come and go but it makes it really difficult for me to get a deep breath in because my heart goes so tight, Im trying to eat right i know im not perfect and i drink a bunch of water plus i even got on the treadmill this morning but had the hardest time finishing my usual 30 minutes because my heart kept getting that sharp tightness pain every few minutes should i be freaking out or what? I know im overweight but why would I just recently start to have this problem? any ideas? thanks ~ Kim

Go see your doctor, right now! If you feel that something is not right, go and have it checked!!!!

It could be something serious, though, that needs treatment. They may have to prescribe something, and may recommend a special diet and exercise program. I've had a heart condition since I was 26 years old and I wasn't even very overweight at the time. It's really important to get checked out. Shortness of breath and chest pains can be an indication of a lot of things that are not necessarily weight related.

Good luck

Default I Agree

Get to your dr. now. My husband had a heart attack at age 40 and is skinny. He said that the pain didn't feel sharp, it felt tight.

I would be there before sundown today.

You must get to a docter asap. If you think it is your heart. It could be something to look at. Hope for the best for you.

I don't play a nurse on TV, I'm a real one. No one should ever sit around and think about chest pain!

Oh Suzanne,

My daughter and I just love your picture of the chicken. It's hilarious! Where did you get it? I would love to be able to have a bigger picture and take it to our support group. I am sure the ladies there would enjoy it.

Definitely go to the doctor.. it could be a heart thing.. or it could be something else! Its best to know!

My mom was rushed to the hospital with heart attack symptoms, it was not good. Although once she went thru TONS of tests, they could literally not find ANYTHING wrong with her! She went to a nurse friend of hers who looked at her food journal and figured it was likely a reaction to food.

Also! I was at work one day, doing lots of reaching. That night I felt a tightness across my back and chest, I couldn't breath deep, I felt a really deep pain when I did so. My bf gave me a ibuprofen, and I went to the doctor the next day, I had strained a muscle. Lots of pains can seem like something else. But it's better not to risk it.

Why would this just start out of no where? Something has changed, doesn't have to be anything too serious, if you are feeling anxious that'll only make things worse.

Instead of waiting for the doctor to say lose weight, tell them all about your plan, that'll help them determine if there is something going on with that. Especially let them know if you are weight training, b/c of the muscle strain thing.

Sorry to write a little novel here..

Rysmommy - I'm glad you're going to the doctor, because this is a NEW pain, but I think I should let y'all know:

Asthmatics get chest pains all the time! Mine even has a name - I call it the bear, because it digs its claws in, and squeezes all the air out!

And it is spring - the air pressure and air temperature is changing - frequently - and trees and other vile things are starting to put out pollen - yes, even here in Michigan (although it may snow this weekend).

So, being unsure about whether a chest pain is significant is not just denial, even on Advair.

That said - I do go to the ER when new or scary things hit - but even a chest pain radiating down my right arm was just "asthma attack", although the nurse's eyes got REAL big when I came in.

I don't post much, but it seemed important to say this. And one thing I'm hoping for through weight loss is to diminish the severity of my asthma.

When I had chest pains the doctors said it was deffered pain from gall stones so that is a possibility.
