I bought the book, have been thinking about trying it, but haven't yet. I'm currently on Atkins which I know works as long as I stick to it. The hard part for me is sticking to it consistently. So I'm just wondering what sort of success you ladies have had on Sonoma and how quickly or consistently you lose?
I've lost a total of 8 lbs. in three weeks, after a stall for two months. I love the food, I don't feel the slightest bit deprived, and I really feel good. I would recommend it to anyone, as its something I feel I can do the rest of my life.
I'm going on my third week. I have lost three pounds but I haven't been real strict about it. I have lost about 1 1/2 inches in my stomach. The food is really good.
I've lost 8lbs since Christmas but I use the Sonoma plan as a guide for nutrition and portion size- I'm walking a marathon in 8 weeks so am eating more carbs to help me train. More like wave 3.
I'm on day ten of the plan and have lost nine pounds so far. I've stuck to it like glue and exercised every day last week. I've also drank over 100 ounces of water per day. This week, I'm only going to be able to exercise three times and with starting wave 2 the weight loss will slow down, but I haven't felt this good in years!
I would recommend it to anyone. It's an awesome diet Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
I've lost about 10 pounds since the end of Dec. I was very diligent on Wave 1 and lost about 4 pounds, which is very rapid for me. On Wave 2, I am less diligent and tend to behave more like Wave 3, but I lose .5 to 1 pound per week, which is still quicker than what I was losing before (it took 4 months to lose the first 7 pounds).
More importantly to me, I feel like this is a healthy way of eating that I can do for life. My family loves the recipes, I am seldom hungry, and I do not feel deprived. Hope you join us!
I've lost 9 pounds, but strayed from the system for about a month in February when my dad passed away. But even with that month I didn't gain any back which I attribute to the fact that I now understand portion size better and am making better choices.
I lost 9.6 pounds the first 7 days, it's about time to switch to wave 2 but I really love this way of eating, I feel like I'm not deprived and last night had the best supper I felt like singing... I had that barilla plus pasta which I cooked to direction and sauteed it with shrimp and low fat sun dried tomato balsamic vinegar, man oh man was it good. This program really works and I know exercise is important and I was going to curves but injured my back so know have to lay off for a little while. The support is all here, I tried Atkins for a while but once you go off the pounds really pile back on very fast. Good luck
I've only lost about 4 pounds since the beginning of March(which is great for me!) but I remeasured myself and discovered that I lost a total of 7 inches since January! So if it's not coming off in pounds, of course, check your measurements! I was very excited & motivated to stick with it!
I actually started on Monday and am down 8lbs. I have followed Wave 1 very carefully, but have only had time to exercise one of the days. I'm thrilled with the results!
I lost a little over 7 pounds but almost all was in Wave 1 (which I followed pretty close except for the salad dressings--didn't like the recipes so bought some that did not have corn syrup in them) I have now stalled and even gone up and down a pound or two but no further losses---I try not to be discouraged and I tell myself that since I am walking on my treadmill at least 30-45 minutes a day maybe I am building muscle (I hardly ever walked on the thing before) I don't want to quit since I believe in eating whole grain and no sugar and more vegetables etc BUT I am thinking of going back to Jorge Cruise 3 hour where I lost more weight and had more choices but eating the Sonoma food as much as possible---it is hard to choose between the low fat light stuff that has more sugar and additives and the higher fat "pure" food so I just try to make smart choices---I am determined to make this work so maybe if I tweak it a little and put in the time I will (after I got on the scale this morning I was ready to bolt but I have had a little chat with myself and walked 15 extra minutes on the treadmill) so I am not giving up yet
I've lost 15 lbs since I started on Feb 28. and an entire clothing size.
My husband and I get up at 5 every morning and walk 3-4 miles, rain or shine. (We live on the coast, if we waited for the rain to stop we'd never leave the house) I also do 20 of Pilates every evening.
My entire family loves the way we're eating now. I have 2 teenagers, who would love not having the snacks around anymore and healthier choices. I was looking for something that wouldn't make my family feel like they were on a diet, that would be easy to stick with for life, not just for a few months and I hit the jackpot with the Sonoma Diet.
