I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Sorry I haven't had time to post individual responses lately. My life has been crazy between work and family but I'm getting it all back in order. I had to work today and my hubby did all of the laundry and all of the cleaning, he is so wonderful
Tomorrow is the big weigh in day for me, with the scales turned around the way they should be. I'm not going to cry no matter what it says.
I think that instead of letting the whole scale thing depress me Its actually motivating me more. I've scheduled Curves in my appointment book for FOUR days this week and I'm going to try to walk with my colleague a few days this week too. The puppies are getting old enough to walk around the neighborhood so I'm going to take them one at a time for walks so we can work on leash skills.
I turn 40 in 31 weeks, I want to be down 100 more pounds by then or about 3 pounds per week. With strict diet and exercise, is this possible?? I'm following South Beach and I love it. I'm doing great and no cheats. With adding in exercise, can it be done?? I would just love to weigh under 275 by then and maybe fit into a size 24. I don't want to set myself up for disappointment so I'm not making it an all or nothing goal, but I'm putting it out there for the world...well at least y'all, to see
Thanks so much for the support, you are all AWESOME!!!
Hey guys! My back is better and I cleaned all evening. I did play with the pics page so if you would like I posted some pics on there from when I started and where I am at now. Check them out. Time for bed now. Talk to you all tomorrow~
christineu--Thank you, I would appreciate it. I've never had Irish Soda Bread before.

Well I had a bad food weekend. I took the girls to the drive-in, and had a grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread (not really low-carb approved LOL), a sausage on a stick and candy! Yikes...but it wasn't as bad as it could have been, and I was good all week so. However my scales are still acting up...because I know I didn't gain 21 lbs in a week and that's what it said. I am tempted to throw the darn thing in the trash. Anyway much better today fajitas (minus the tortillias and with lowfat sour cream) and a Voila dinner stuff. It's really good when you first make it but I do not recommend reheating them. It was chicken and veggies in a four cheese sauce and I ate the first half of it earlier in the week and reheated it tonight. The sauce turned to water, I suppose from the water in the veggies. But, it was okay.
I also haven't exercised since friday, that just means so far I took yesterday off because I am about to go workout now, but.... I just don't feel comfortable exercising with my brother here, so when he is off, I don't work out at all. Okay, it's just a quick post, but....
I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and a great week.
Hi ladies. It's been an uneventful weekend. I've done a lot of thinking.. not sure where it will lead at this point but I've definitely had a few things to really consider.
We had a 14 year old girl who came in because she'd had hip surgery, then later had pins removed from one of her hips. Well, the incision got infected and so she's been on peds trying to get it under control with IV antibiotics. I realized she was a large girl, but I never really gave it a second thought. Then, when I was going through her chart to break it down, I noticed her weight. At 14 years old, she weighs 270lbs. I just wanted to cry for her, because I know her road ahead will be very hard.
Anyhow, that added to all the thinking I've been doing. I'm trying to turn it into motivation to get my butt in gear and start trying again. I don't want to be this weight a month from now, much less a year from now. That's the path I've been following and I really need to knock it off.
this morning was my 1st official weightin... and -4lbs!!! I was surprised, be cause last week wasn't perfect or even near it! Lesson learned: nothing is so black and white in life.
I don't want to be this weight a month from now, much less a year from now.
EXCELLENT statement! I've been bobbling along at the same weight (270-275) for MONTHS now (since the holidays). I need to get crackin' again! How long do I really want to keep saying, "I've lost 40 pounds?" I need to increase that total!
Countesss -- I just wanted to comment on your post that while it may be possible to lose 3 pounds/week I honestly don't know if you can maintain that as an average for 31 weeks! Your body loses at a rate that may be different than you expect, even if you are an angel. Also, 3 pounds a week isn't considered healthy -- you may lose a lot, but is it all fat? Or is it muscle too?
Also, as you lose it gets harder to maintain the same rate of weight loss (because you now weigh less, each pound is a greater percentage of your weight). I think many people above 300 pounds can and do lose 3 pds/week on average, but as you get lower it will get harder for that reason alone.
I would suggest focusing on the things you can control (food and exercise) and let the scales go where they may. Do the things that make you healthier and at your birthday celebrate a healthier you, no matter your weight. Don't be freaked out by a number!
Nope, not using the wrong smilies...The weather here calls for sleet, feezing rain and snow today, accumulation of up to 6 inches by tomorrow night! Sooooo tired of this weather!
Countess: I just wanted to say, you may be able to lose that much weight that fast...but I think I'd try to set my sights a little lower. You'll have a lot of trouble mainting a loss that fast and may get discouraged when you get closer and see the goal isn't as obtainable as you'd hoped. As you can see, I'm still working on my first hundred. I think I could have done it in a year - 52 weeks - pretty easy had I WORKED at it more. I celebrated my 40th at 314 and it was my best birthday EVER. 40 is scary, huh? I went out for a fattening dinner (it was pre-ww) and got a tattoo! Yep...I'm being dragged into middle-age kicking and screaming!

Have a happy, healthy, OP and most of all WARM day!
Last week was really hectic for me and I didn't exercise nearly as much as I would have liked to. This week won't be so crazy so my goal is to exercise everyday, Monday thru Saturday. Can't wait for the weather to start getting warmer so I can start incorporating walking into my routine. When I was pregnant with my daughter I walked everywhere. My sister would always laugh at me because even if where I had go was far, I walked. She said now that I was pregnant it was a perfect time to be lazy. I lost so much weight after having my daughter and was my smallest I had been in a long time. I was down to 200 pounds and I looked good too. Then my daughter got very sick and was hospitalized, not long after her father and I broke up and next thing I knew I was up to 300 pounds. I gained 100 pounds in a year. That's crazy! So if I could gain it in a year, I'm definitely going to lose it in a year. I was never skinny but I just don't feel right at this weight. This isn't me at all.
But, that's enough from me. Off to check Miss Brenda out on the pics page. Hey, Brenda, have you done that stripper video yet? I should get it.
Brenda - I definitely notice a difference, especially in your face. I didnt realize you were that young. Your avatar is so small, I never saw your face clearly so I pictured you older but you're a you're a young whippersnapper. aren't cha? Nice to really see you.
