Default What Seems to Work to Ward Off Overeating

You know, I have finally after a lot of years learned something. When I am overwhelmed or discouraged or stressed or whatever, the best thing for me to do is sleep.

I used to make lists of coping skills, stretch, take a bath, take a walk, exercise, read a book. I've come finally to realize that the best for me is to just go to bed and get a good deep sleep. It is amazing how much brighter things look afterwards and I have the joy of not coping with a pint of ice cream.

Of course you can't go to sleep at noon when you're at work, but you can soon enough and when it gets to where I feel like I need it, I take a vacation day from work and sleep in.

I may be really different than many, but this sure is working for me better than anything I've ever tried before. Like duh.

Amen Cindy. Someone wrote someplace once about Sleep being a poor man's panacea and they were so right. When our Mom's used to tell us " everything will be better in the morning" darned if they weren't right

I am a huge fan of sleep, of course I still wake up at 5:30-6 on the weekends!! Grrrrr

My other favorite is petting my cute kittycat... reduces blood pressure and how can anything really be wrong with someone so cute and furry purring in your lap?

I bring my kittykat to bed with me, go to sleep with him purring near me. Gosh is there anything more soothing that a cat purring? And he loves me some completely. If we could bottle up the feeling and market it, we'd be very rich. :-)

Oh, I'm a huge fan of kittykats! My daughter says that he's not my cat, I'm his human!!! Anytime you want to find the cat, find me and he's right there. I love to sleep in too and he doesn't get up until I do.

I love to sleep when I can if things are a little tough. The other thing I will do when I can is play with my 16 month old daughter. Her biggest issue is trying to grab something out of the top bin that her toys are in. Kinda helps put everything into perspective.

I've also noticed that going to sleep helps a lot with overeating. I just think that when i wake up, i get to have a yummy breakfast and start my healthy eating day all over again!

Cats and dogs are just funny looking humans

Default two of my favorite things

sleeping and kitties.

I love to take naps when I can, which unfortunately isn't often enough.

Our little kitty is getting old and he's rather thin and frail now. He gets cold easy so at night he crawls under the covers between hubby and me. I have to admit that it's nice to have a soft, warm, purring kitty snuggled up against me. But when he gets warm, he sticks his legs straight out and it's amazing how much space a little cat can occupy! Not to mention an occasional prick from a claw.
