Red face New to forum, but not to dieting.

Well, I've been browsing this site for quite some time, but finally decided to register. I have been struggling with my weight for a while now. I've tried many diets in my lifetime. I started South Beach in oct 04 and lost 35 lbs on it. I was doing great. I then moved in with my boyfriend and his eating habits are horrid. I was influenced and gained it all back.

I do like the south beach diet, but there's too much preperation for me. I work long days and come home and am exhausted. I just want to put something in the microwave and that's it. I am not a good cook and in fact, I hate cooking.

I think I found a solution to this though. I am now following the Canadian Food Guide. What I'm doing for lunch and dinner is eating a low fat Michelina Bowl. Those are amazing! I had lost a few lbs in 2004 doing that as well, and I think it's the most simple thing I can do. They are very nutritious. I am eating enough fruit and veggies for my snacks. Breakfast is always healthy as well.

I'd like to get some thoughts on this. Has anyone tried anything like this for losing weight? I need something simple in order to stick with it. Any other suggestions?

Chantal

It's good if it's working for you, but I would have two concerns:

1. Frozen/packaged meals tend to have a lot of sodium
2. What are you going to do when you reach your goal weight - are you going to eat frozen dinners for lunch/dinner for your whole life? What is your plan to maintain your weight loss - what healthy habits are you incorporating into your lifestyle forever? I didn't want to be at my goal weight for a day, I wanted to be at my goal weight for my life and that influenced how I decided to lose weight.

Congratulations on your success! It's super that you are eating plenty of fruits and vegetables every day
