Red face food for thought...

Recently, as I've been on this weight loss journey (with all of its ups and downs, scale-wise, emotional, and otherwise) I've gotten some really good advice from friends (here, through quotes, and IRL). And, I've been thinking that since we're all going through some of the same things, I wanted to share the words of my friends (IRL), along with some inspirational quotes that help me out from time to time, so that maybe they can also help you in a time when you're down.

1. "If you failed today, don't fret. I've watched you do the right thing for 30 (X) days in a row right before this! Do not get dragged down by your mis-hap, but instead, celebrate all those great days where you did exactly what you set out to do! And then tomorrow, start a new chain of successful days!"

2. "The only way that your plan stops working is if you stop working the plan. You have to work hard for it, if you want it to work hard for you."

3. "Promise me you'll always remember---you're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin to Pooh

4. "Your stubbornness is what is going to get you there. You are stronger than this thing. You made a promise to yourself, and you don't have the ability to not see it through!"

5. "What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog." - D. Eisenhower

6. "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals." -Unknown

7. "Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. " - R.W.Emerson

8. "I will not stop. I will not slow down. I will not surrender. I will win. I will triumph. I will never, ever quit. Remember winners are just losers who got MAD! Keep on keeping on."

9. "Look what you've done for yourself! If you never lose another pound, you have 20+ reasons to be proud of yourself already."

10. "That which we persist in doing becomes easier - not that the nature of the task has changed, but our ability to do has increased." - R.W. Emerson

These are just a few thoughts (I am addicted to quotes, I swear ) that keep me going when the going gets tough. Of course, I'm continually inspired by people that I've met here, and the helpful advice that everyone here has to offer, but I chose not to repeat anyone else's words in this particular list.

If you have some kind of inspirational quote that keeps you going, please share it! If it helps you feel strong, chances are it will help others feel strong, too! Thanks to everyone for all the support you share each day.

Thanks for sharing this, I love it!!! I think I'll print it out and tape it next to my desk. I especially like #2!

One of my favorite quotes that keeps me going is from
Yoda: "Do or do not...there is no try"

Thanks for sharing these. I put quotes on business size cards print them out and laminate them. Every week I take them to my WW meeting and whoever wants to pick one can. Then the next week they can keep it or trade it on another. Some keep their cards for weeks other trade every week.

I have a couple favorites.....

1. I may not be where im going, but thank god im not where I use to be.

2. As long I don’t quit, I can't fail.

3. Don’t look back your not going that way.

4. When you get to the end of your rope, tie a rope and hang on.

Those are all awesome!

These aren't so much quotes as they are simple reminders, but they have pulled me through in the past and continue to help me during tough times

"I am not torturing/denying myself, I am rewarding myself with a happier, healthier, slimmer, sexier me!"

"This time it is all about moderation, accountability and incorporating my weight loss into my life instead of the other way around."

"You didn't gain the weight all in one day...remember that it's not going to come off in one day."

and, last but definately not least:

"You are beautiful just the way you are."
