Hi everyone - I need some more songs to add to my workout playlist - would anyone mind sharing some of the songs that get them through their workouts?

Off the top of my head, here are some I find really upbeat and motivating:

Iggy Pop - The Passenger
Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers
Bright Eyes - Another Travelin' Song
The Decemberists - The Infanta
Great Big Sea - Run Run Away
Cornershop - Brimful of Asha
Beatles - Lady Madonna
The Flaming Lips - Race for the Prize

But I have a funny taste in music

A Little Less Conversation - Elvis
Be My Yoko Ono - Barenaked Ladies
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard - Paul Simon
Mari-Mac - Great Big Sea
Rocky Top - Dolly Parton
El Scorcho - Weezer

My current playlist:

Black Eyed Pea's 'Pump it'
Gwen Stefani 'Hollaback Girl' 'What You Waiting For'
Kelly Clarkson 'Walk Away'
No Doubt 'Excuse me mister' 'New'
Jimi Hendrix 'Hey Joe' 'Purple Haze'
Sublime 'Wrong Way'
Shania Twain 'Up' 'If you're not in it for love'
Eminem 'Lose Yourself'
Evanescence 'Missing'
Shakira 'La tortura'
Britney Spears 'Toxic'
Coldplay 'Fix You'
Pink 'Stupid Girls'
The Killers 'Mr. Brightside'
My Chemical Romance 'Helena'
Janis Joplin 'Piece of my Heart'
Christina Aguilera 'Dirrty'
Ciara 'Oh'
Nirvana 'Lithium'

Mine are so mainstream!! I think I need to expand my musical horizons. I get Blender every month and always intend to check out new and non-mainstream music, but I never get around to it.

Here's what I have on my iPod for the current workout playlist. I've been using it for awhile and haven't gotten bored yet (I think I could listen to Breakfast Club about three times in a row--it's about getting up to watch Saturday morning cartoons and eating cereal back in the day--just a really fun hip hop song that I highly recommend). Some are songs I'm vaguely ashamed that I have, but it's a workout mix so...

Move On, Mike Doughty
Pata Pata, Miriam Makeba
Washington, D.C., The Magnetic Fields
Starry Eyed Surprise , Paul Oakenfold
Jerry Falwell Destroyed Earth, Ben Kweller
I'm a Player, The KGB
The Slow Descent Into Alcoholism, New Pornographers
Everything is Everything, Phoenix
Alternative To Love, Brendan Benson
Breakfast Club, Z-Trip
The Way We Get By, Spoon
Counting Down the Hours, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
Au Pays de Gandhi, MC Solaar
The One, Foo Fighters
Hands Up, Black Eyed Peas
More Bounce (In California), Soul Kid #1
Down, Pearl Jam
Rock and Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This), Handsome Boy Modeling School
Somebody Told Me, The Killers
Harder to Breathe, Maroon 5
Roll With It, Oasis
Ride, The Vines
Elevation, U2
SoCal Loco, Sprung Monkey
Toxic, Britney Spears
Jerk It Out, Ceasars
Hate to Say I Told You So, The Hives
I'm a Cuckoo, Belle & Sebastian
Song for the Dumped, Ben Folds Five
A Good Man Is Easy to Kill, Beulah
Lovefool , The Cardigans
Upside Down, Diana Ross
Labour Of Love, Frente!
Hollaback Girl, Gwen Stefani
Destiny Calling, James
The Remedy (I Won't Worry), Jason Mraz
Crabbuckit, k-os
I Want You To Want Me (cover), Letters To Cleo
La Belle et Le Badboy, MC Solaar
King Of All The World, Old 97's
We Will Become Silhouettes, The Postal Service
Dupont Circle, Sarah Azzara
Wannabe, Spice Girls
What I'm Trying To Say, Stars
Bust a Move Young MC
