Default Little Changes, BIG RESULTS

I got great news this week from a visit to my cardioligist.

Last year I reduced the amount of eating I did at fast food establishments, from about 2 times a week to 2 times a month.

Result: Cholesterol dropped 78 points!!! from 222 to 144

2 years ago I lost less than 10% of my weight

Result: The thickening of the wall of my heart that was a concern for my doctors has reversed itself and is now normal.

I am amazed at what small changes can do for overall health. What about you?

That's brilliant news! You must be chuffed to bits. It just goes to show, eh?

I have no idea about my health stats, but I definitely breathe easier, and my feet no longer hurt when I walk for longer than 10 minutes.

Default Yay!

That's great! I haven't been to the doctor to see about any health improvements, and I haven't lost much, just 12lbs.. but my biggest thing is that I can actually stay up on my rollerblades for the entire time that we are at the hockey rink without feeling like my feet are going to explode or something. When we first started, i had to sit down like every 5 minutes or so and take a break because the pressure was too much for my feet and ankles. Here's to the day when I can rollerblade down the sidewalk by the beach!

Thanks for the input everybody. It has been a week since I got the news and I don't think I have really settled down yet from the excitement.

Mousie - Make sure and let us know how your test results turn out and
Midwife- It actually has ended up costing me more to eat well. I am a retireee and tell my friends I need my part time job to shop at the Wedge (our local whole foods coop) but the results are worth every dollar. I also just feel better about myself because I know I am taking better care of myself instead of acting as if my life doesn't matter!! That seems to be the most important thing.
