Default Night Time Eating

This is my 5th try on WW. I know it works-- I have seen it work but I keep sabataging it. Last fall, I lost 14lbs - took 6 months - quit, and have gained it all back. I can do great all day but when I come home I can eat everything in site and ruin everything I did good all day. I do not know what I want so I just keep eating!
I made a chicken breast for dinner--eat one. Than I was still hungry so I started picking at Sunday's leftover roast and before I knew it, I had eaten half!! Then I ate some chese, some nuts, etc.
Does anyone else have this problem? I just keep eating at night and then I get mad at myself!

I think a lot of us have that same problem. I know I do (or did). I think that even though a lot of the eating is emotional, that feeling of not being completely sated contributes to the falling of the diet wagon.

I love WW and it has worked for me in the past, but I could not deal with the feeling of being hungry all the time.

I will not recommend any specific plan, but I have found a plan where if I feel hungry after I have eaten my one chicken breast with salad, etc. I can wait a little bit and if I am still hungry I can eat another half a breast or more without sabotaging my diet (or weight loss).

Good luck in finding your own path.

Have you looked for some low point foods? Or Snacks?
My husband and I LOVE this recipe:
one package of Angelfood cake mix
One can lite Blueberry piefilling

Mix the two together (no water - no nothing ...just the two ingredients)

spray a 9X13 pan - pour batter into it and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Let cool completely and cut into 24 pieces.

Each piece is only 2 points!! and they are YUMMY. I have a piece with a cup of tea.

It freezes good too...so you can put it in the freezer..and when you are cooking dinner - take a piece out (or if you have enough points left at the end of the day - 2 pieces)..then by the time you are ready for a snack it is also ready. A cup of Blueberry green tea is PERFECT.

The tea helps curb the appetite and the flavor of the tea helps make you feel like you got a treat!

Default Find some high-volume, low-fat snacks

Air-popped popcorn is perfect. It is crunchy and takes awhile to eat. You can dress it up with some calorie-free spices or just eat it plain. Eating is okay if you are hungry. Just make different choices. And don't feel guilty. Guilt is a useless emotion.

A few things I do:

As soon as we have eaten I put away any leftovers - out of sight out of mind

I keep some cut up celery, baby carrots, and precut fruit pieces in the fridge so when a snack attack happens I have something OP to reach for.

Find something to do - going on your computer, reading, doing some housework, knitting etc. I find I get so involved in a project that I forget to eat.

Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day as sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger.

Make sure you actually eat enough throughout the day and include healthy snacks in your plan. If you are not doing this then maybe that is why you are grazing at night.

I had this problem. I've failed on WW before. I started again this Jan and I've lost weight every week. The difference this time? I quit buying "trigger" foods and having them in the house. If I know thats a binge food for me I just don't buy it. Low points or not. I keep easy things around to grab that are low points. Baby carrots and fat free dip. 2 point WW granola bars in my car glove box and one in my purse. 100 calorie snack bags. Individual bags of popcorn. This has made all the difference this time.
