Default Anyone else with headaches?

For me to have a headache is a rare thing, so two nights on Wave 1 with blistering headaches does not thrill me. I'm not a fan of over the counter medication, so I've just been going to bed a little earlier than normal. I am a bit hungry, but not "crazy hungry", so I'm guessing I'm getting plenty of calories (I was hovering around 1700 before Sonoma with the occasional binge, and I think my Sonoma is around 1400). Could this be sugar withdrawl? I ate a bunch of fruit before, and am sure missing it.

I can do anything for 10 days, I can do anything for 10 days...

I am guessing it is very similar to the headaches that people get on phase 1 of south beach. I haven't gone through wave 1 of Sonoma, but I did do SB and the headaches are from low blood sugar. Your body is so used to getting it's sugars quick and easy from refined foods, and even fruit. It will level out.

In fact in the long run you will have more level blood sugars than you ever did, that's what eliminates the cravings.

Meanwhile, you sort of need to play defense. Plan ahead and have an allowed snack before you start feeling kind of bad.

And don't worry, it usually only lasts a few days, so if you need to take something for the headache, you won't have to take it forever.

I have also had bad headaches, since I began 3 days ago. I'm sure it's from low blood sugar, and I thought I really didn't eat much sugar before. I just take something for the headache and try to deal with the day! I'm trying to make it through the 10 days, hopefully the headaches will go away, especially once we can have fruit. Hang in there!!!!

People sometimes get headaches on Atkins during the first low carb phase. Yes it is sugar withdrawal. The headaches go away on their own (before you start eating fruit). They stop when you have depleted your glycogen stores and burning fat for fuel. I haven't tried Sonoma yet, but I suspect it is the same thing.
