Question Lent Ideas?

Day three and going strong!! But I have a problem, NO MEAT today. I really am not a fish person. Can you give me some ideas for meatless days?
Thank you!

Lyndon, have you ever tried some of the soy products out there? Or veggie burgers. Brands that come to mind are: MorningStar farms, Garden Burger, Boca Burger, Dr. Praeger's.. etc. They have a wide variety of products from chickenless type patties, burgers, veggie burgers, meatless crumbles

The URLs are

http://www.kelloggs.com/brand/msfarms/ - Morningstar farms

http://www.gardenburger.com/

http://www.bocaburger.com/

http://www.drpraegers.com

Whole new world of food out there!!

Thank You Linda, I Never Even Thought About Those. I Have Tried The Morning Star Products A Long Time Ago. I Heard That They Are Much Better Than They Used To Be. I Might Stop On The Way Home And Pick Something Up For Dinner.

I'm just having whole wheat pasta tonight. And since I haven't got the Sonoma book yet I think I'll just go ahead and give up chocolate for Lent. That'll be a good way to start getting off some sugar before I start the diet.

How about a taco-salad with a whole grain tortilla cut into triangles ans baked for the crunchy chips, and refried beans instead of meat? Load on the veggies and you'll be good!

I guess this will count as a recipie as well as Lenten suggestion. Last night, even though it wasn't Friday, I made a veggie pasta with shrimp.
sauteed Mushrooms, tomato, green pepper, garlic, and broccoli in a pan with Olive Oil and Water. (season to taste). I cooked some whole wheat pasta. When everything was about done, I added (and you wouldn't have to if you don't want) some pre-cooked mini shrimp to the veggies and some lemon juice. I mixed the noodles in and YUM!

I ate a bowl and still had left overs.

Lent will be fun!

Does anyone have any snack and/or salad dressing ideas for Wave 1?

Thanks

KC if you look at the top of the Sonoma forum page, we have a recipe section. There are a few snack recipes in there from what I recall.
