Hi girlies!

We're off to the Farm Show in a few minutes. Been up tidying the house just in case anyone calls to show it while we're gone. Looks great but wonder how sick I'll be of doing this by the time it sells?

I'm not sure if I'll make it back later or not. After that we need to stop by the mall, Bed Bath & Beyond and hopefully Home Depot. I need some bags of dirt to finish a landscaping project that I started last fall but the neighbor men convinced DH that I could not get the dirt hauled back there by myself. So he wouldn't go buy me dirt and I was too busy and P.O'd to do it myself. So I'll be hauling the darn dirt anyway. Dumba$$ men. Not that they volunteered to help me. Dumba$$ men.

Gotta run!

2Cute, I know exactly what you mean when you say thing written come out different according to who reads it and the mindset of that person. One of my best examples of that was the day I came in and there were some SWEET POTATO CHIPS on the table. My son had bought them thinking SWEET potato chips, (He was thinking Kettle Corn) and he was so dissappointed when he found they were SWEET POTATO chips (the orange vegetable)

Well, it's Saturday and It rained all night here last night. I've got to get my act together and get some housework done, and go to the post office and get some Ebay stuff mailed off, then to the bank and to get a haircut.

I'll check in later and see what is going on with everyone.

Just popping in for a quickie to let you all know that Yes I am still a glutton! food wise anyway!

John drove to Philadelphia for the weekend to go see his brother. He was getting a little homesick! Poor guy! I was on the phone with him when he crossed over from Delaware to Pennsylvania and he said man it feels good to be home again! Funny thing...I had the homesickness for Philadelphia about a month ago...I never had that for Rhode Island when I left there. I lived there for 38 years and in Philly for 6 years and made some great friends in that short time. Oh well....at least we can go back to visit. We are going in June for a family wedding. I felt bad for Andrew when we told him John was going to Pennsylvania for the weekend. He said Mommy I LIKE Pennsylvania! Broke my heart...I told him we were all going in June so he was happy with that.

OK GOtta go take a shower, we are going to the movies to see Chicken Little!
Have a great day! MichelleK

Default Hello ladies!

Just doing a quick check in to say hello, and how are all of you? I am still op and determined to make it through this weekend without straying. Wish me luck, cause weekends are my downfall!

Hope you are all having a great time this weekend. It is raining and nasty here. Makes me want to curl up somewhere and sleep!

Oh yeah, remember that thing about not doing your hair and having company drop in? It happened to me yesterday afternoon. A cousin I haven't seen in years came by. She looked soooo good! I think I hate her! I looked my absolute worst! Life is not fair. Ahhhh me! Ruth

Hi Ladies! still have to borrow dh's computer, and it's on battery, so this is just a drive by post, but I wanted to say
for all the support!!! And to Theresa and any other new comers!

We're ON OUR WAY HOME, if only for 2 short days. I love the new , but I need a deep breath of horse dust! It will be nice to be able to do laundry, clean the truck out and wash the dogs! I love the puppy, but can't believe how stinky he makes the truck. He has razor sharp teeth and was in not just simple Destructo mode today, but a Super Wicked Monster Killer Destructo mode. It will be good for him to be out of the truck for a bit. I've been giving him things like the empty dog food bag to shred in hopes that things like our paperwork and log books miht be spared, but today it seems that nothing short of mom's fingers and toes was exciting enough. BOY! Can he trash the place! At home we have a big basket of dog toys, so he'll be in heaven.

As for the truck, i loved it for the first several years. It was empowering to handle that machine as well as any of the boys could, earning the same money - or better, than they did. But now my husband handles all the $$, and it's a chore to make him accountable, but I have to do that more all the time. I had no debt and he had a ton - a quarter of a mil that we've been working to pay down. When i take the bull by the horns, we make more progress on it, but like a man, he wants to control things. But that's how we got in this spot.

The new house could actually pay for itself in 5 years if we work it right. There a bunch of gravel that we want to take out, and a gravel pit just across the highway that actually wants the land for the "bank run" gravel. DH can run machinery, and obviously I can drive truck. If we sell the gravel to the pit, it could pay for itself. We'd remove the gravel in limited areas at a time, and then put the top soil back down for pasture, and even have a pond or two when all was done. He already has someone set up to do the licensing for the mining, and the equipment could be leased instead of bought outright to save front end money. Since I've looked at the figures again, it COULD really work, but the transition and the first 2 years will be a trial. After the Amway disaster, in addition to the fix he got himself into with wifey #1, I just find it hard to trust him. But I think he's right on this.... as long as I supervise to make sure he doesn't go overboard again.

Ah, well, On my way home is the important part of this message. I'll be back at Curves Monday a.m., and packing the rest of the day. Then by Tuesday we'll be on our way back to Montana. I hope the weather will be better than it was LAST time we went there!!!

Keep the skinny faith my friends.

Talking

Good Evening Ladies!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We did puppy school as usual this morning. Today was introduction to agility and it was great. Last times the pups were really shy and hard to handle. Amazing what 5 months will do. They flew thru those obsticles, better than anyone else. Good Dogs!

We then went to a restaurant for lunch. We thought it was Indian, turned out to be "Mediterranean". Yummy just the same. The best hummus! I'd had it once before and several people had said how good it was...I didn't think much of it, but this was wonderful! Seems the lady that fixed it last time wasn't as good as everyone thought she was. We got an appetizer sampler with that, very good. I thought I'd be good and have the chicken shish kabob ... but I ate 1/2 an order of gyro meat too. Actually, we ate way too much, but I had a tiny dinner so I think it's all okay.

We came home and crashed. I'm really not sure why. The pups played, DH slept, I watched TV. After a couple hours, the pups were ready to stop playing and crashed and I did too. Basically we slept the day away. The eliptical remains in pieces on the floor.

Thin: Very glad to hear from you. That car must get awsome gas mileage! Looking forward to pics.

2Cute: It is funny how things get misinterpreted. I didn't take anything you said the wrong way...I was teasing! Guess I should have used a different smilie! But this made me think of a cartoon:

Ruth: Hope the weekend goes well. Stay OP and I will do my best to do it too. Here's some

Terri: Did you get your dirt? I keep wondering why you are doing landscaping now? Was it started and needs finished?

Michelle and Leanne: Good to see you are still with us.

Valerie: I got very lucky with my DH. After my first incredibly disasterous first marriage I was a basket case and most of it had to do with money issues. I had horrible credit and was terrified of debt. I actually told DH I could not marry him unless he let me handle all the money, pay all the bills. He got an allowance, $200.00 per month for gas, eating out, stuff he might want to buy, in a separate checking account. I got all the rest to pay the bills, etc. Turns out after 5 years I told him I was sick to death of the bills and I've now given the check book to him. But he was perfectly happy to let me do it...not a really demanding kinda guy! I hope this all works out for you. Sounds like there is a perfectly good plan there.

Well ladies, getting late and I need to try to get something accomplished - or not! Later ladies!

Sitting here watching a Johnny Cash anthrology on Public Television. It's pretty good. I'm trying to rest before I finish the laundry and go to bed. t

Thin, it's taken me all night to list seven items on Ebay. I can't imagine listing enough for a whole store!!!

Lillion I loved the cartoon, but I'm afraid I'm like the Man!!! I think I'd be better able to stay on program if I saw myself as big as I AM!!!

Valerie, I'm glad you are home for a few days.

Well the show's over. I promised myself I'd get up when it was over.

Later...

Hi ladies,

I should be in bed but I'm watching a movie about the Scarsdale diet doctor and Jean Harris. Well, about to watch it as it is just beginning.

It was a pretty full day. We went to the Farm Show and found it a little disappointing. Although I was thrilled to be out and about doing something besides cleaning house, horses or nothing. It was mostly farm equipment and seed/chemical companies which was more geared for really big farms. Guess I expected more variety. Had fun at Bed, Bath and Beyond - never spend less than $75 when I'm there. I got some new pillows for the couch and a couple of floral pieces to spruce up the kitchen and bathroom. I did get my dirt. I did take a little bit of time to rest while trying to watch Must Love Dogs.

But the landscaping project was calling my name. I finished putting out new mulch on the side of the house, spruced up another area with mulch, and started carrying bags to the back. I carried 13 forty pound bags one at a time on my shoulder. And I didn't even huff and puff that much. I got that big area all filled up and cut out a rose bush that had gone wild. The back of the house looks much better; especially if they stand on the deck and look into that area of the yard. Lilion - to answer your question, yes, it was a project that was not finished. I had started it last year but it went unfinished when the neighbor guys said I couldn't move the dirt by myself. So DH wouldn't get my dirt and they had me convinced too that I couldn't do it. I kept thinking about buying a few bags here or there but I lost interest when they nixed the idea and when it was too late to plant tomatoes anyway. This was another one of those projects that I just never seemed to have enough time to finish but since I was determined that my house wouldn't look like it was taken care of half-a$$, I managed to finish what I started in about an hour. One hour to finish what was started last year. So that is a testament to two things - one, don't listen when someone tries to squish something you really want to do - don't let self-doubt keep you from trying. Two, exercise pays off because that was a lot of dirt I carried on my shoulder that I never would have had it not been for all the weight work I have done over the years.

I think taxes, bills and paperwork is on the agenda for tomorrow. If its nice, maybe scoop dog poop. That's always fun.

Its good to see everyone checking in on the weekend. Goodnight!

Default Hi from UK newbie

Hi, my name is Lesley from the North East of England. I'm 37 years old, married with 2 daughters aged 11 and 6.

I have been yo-yo dieting for years, losing several stones in weight, only to put them all back on again - and more, ended up at 320lbs!!!

I think one of my problems is contentment and complacency, I don't hate myself or find myself disgusting, I have a husband who loves me whatever size I am, I don't have any major issues that I can blame my weight or overeating on - other than loving food and not doing any exercise - not a good combination.
I know what to do to lose weight but the hard part is keeping it up in the long term and staying motivated.

This time I have to lose half my bodyweight, keep it off and change my lifestyle - I don't have a choice this time. 2 weeks ago I had a pulmonary embolism - there's nothing like a possibilty of dying to kick start a diet!!!!

I am into the healthy eating and it's not a struggle yet, but it never is when I'm in the right frame of mind - this never lasts long enough though so I really need some help and encouragement for when the going gets tough.

Hopefully I can give support as well as receive it as everyone here seems so friendly and the inspiring stories are fabulous.

I look forward to getting to know you all, I think I'll be here a while.

Super quick post to say that the eliptical is up and operating. I did a whole 10th of a mile - less than 3 minutes at the lowest resistance. I was exhausted and my pulse was 150! God help me - that things gonna kick my big old butt! But I'm already exhausted. It was a long, hard day - which I'll tell about tomorrow. Suffice it to say, my 10 year old is learning the meaning of hard work, but that means I have to do it too!

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get a whole 3 minutes on the infernal machine!

Have a good night ladies!

Hi girls! Well, I was able to fix a mess I made of #1 Son's curtains last week. It took hemming them by hand, but they turned out ok so I'm a happy camper.

Honey vacated the family room and went upstairs to his new office to watch the Nascar Race so I actually had a comfortable chair to myself and I fast forwarded through Thursday and Friday's All My Children and then watched a movie. I picked Jersey Girl on the DVR. Cute movie. I had seen it before but I really enjoyed it the second time around as well. Also caught some of the Figure Skating Gala from the Olympics. Man, those kids can skate!

Lilion: Good for you getting the eliptical up and running. I'm soooo proud of you. I loved the cartoon! I try real hard not to look in the mirror. Just that bathroom one that only reveals my face.

Lesley: Welcome to our corner of 3 Fat Chicks. We're glad to have you joining us. A pulmonary embolism does NOT sound like fun. I can see where it would scare you into doing something about your health. I'm thinking that that's where I'm headed (into some shock treatment) in order to get started again. I just seem to be living in the state of denial.

Terri: I'm sorry the Farm Show wasn't what you expected it to be. * Sounds like you did fine on the landscaping project. Too bad the MEN wouldn't let you do it when you wanted to.

BarbG: You're right, it is VERY time consuming to list on eBay. That's why it's taking me so long to get back up and running. That and I hate having to do it all over again so I'm procrastinating.

Leanne: It must be a crazy time for you getting ready to go back into the classroom. Just remember to take some time for yourself once in awhile. I know you can't take a holiday every day, but a few hours here and there is good for the soul.

Valerie: When I was young my parents owned an apple orchard. We had all kinds of fruit trees, but the majority were apple. We had almost 8 acres and it was all sandy soil and the highway department wanted it. I can remember they came in and stripped it of all the fruit trees and then took all of the sandy topsoil and hauled it away. I have no idea what the highway department paid for it, but I know as a kid, all I thought of was all of those trees going away. Hope you guys figure something out. Seems like in your case, it's going to be pasture anyways so it's not like they'll be wrecking anything.

Ruth: "remember that thing about not doing your hair and having company drop in? It happened to me yesterday afternoon". That's Murphy's Law for ya. I always think of that when I'm running to the store and haven't done my hair or put on eyeliner. I always run into someone I know.

Michelle: Hope John had a safe trip to Philly. Also hope you and Andrew were able to enjoy some quality time together. How's the weather down there? I bet it's almost to getting pretty out, isn't it?

2cute: Hey, girl, where are you this weekend. Hope DH got back home and you were able to do something fun for at least a part of the weekend.

Guess I'm going to get out of here and see if there's a new Desperate Housewives on tonight. I KNOW there's a new Grey's Anatomy. You know, I love the figure skating, but 17 days of Olympics has gotten to me. I can't wait for this week when TV is back to normal. Talk to you all soon. Love ya bunches!

Wink Good morning!

Hello ladies, How are you this morning? I am proud of myself I made it through the weekend without one slip up! Can you believe it? Now for the next week, but I am taking it one day at a time.

Lesley,, welcome to our little hen party! I think you will like it here. We are always happy to see new posters, aren't we ladies?

Lilion,Thank you for the well wishes for the weekend. How did yours go? I don't think I will be buying one of those machines! My butt would be whipped before I started. It might be just what the Dr. ordered to get the weight moving downward again though.

Thin, The really bad thing about the drop in visitor, my cousin, is that we are the same age, grew up together, and were more like sisters than cousins, she looked so great! Still slim, tall and dark headed (bottle job! catty, catty!) Made me want to run and hide, but it also made me determined to stick to the program. Maybe it was a blessing after all! I can never be tall and slim, cause I am short, short, but I can try to be smaller.

2cute, Where art thou? Did I see a post from you? Short memory.

Valerie, Every time I think of you, that song comes to mind that someone else mentioned on here. LOL! "On the road again". I know you will be so glad to be home, at least for a day or two.

Michelle, Put that fork down and stop that! No gluttony allowed! I do know the feeling! Hope this helps.

Terri, You have been busy! Want to come and garden for me? I used to love to work in my yard until I got where I couldn't. I miss it too. I am sure my flower beds miss the attention they got to, cause now DH is in charge of yard work, need I say more?

To all of those that have not posted lately.....Hello, and where are you?

Time to get off this chair and get moving. Have a super day you all. Southern, you know? Ruth
