Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#843

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday
These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Heather - I'm sure you look a LOT different! And the best part is that you FEEL different!!! Don't let that get you down, hun.

Jill - I love that theory! It makes a LOT of sense! I saved that one!

Nancy - Hope you are able to get it done in time!

Well, I finally buckled down, and put my pic in for the avatar...as hideous as it is, and also so blurry. Also, finally figured out what I'm going to do when I get to Chicago! Going to take the train, walk about 4 blocks to the subway station, and then hop on the subway, and take it to the venue! I'm getting SO EXCITED!!!!!!

Smile Can I join?

Hello, ladies! I'm so happy to have found 3fc!

I joined LA Weight Loss on January 18, and since that time, have lost 24.2 lbs! I have soooooo much more to go, but I am so glad to have the start I have had.

I am a frequent poster on the LAWL forum here on 3fc, but I am by far the largest person on that board. I feel relieved to have some others in my situation (not that I'm relieved you are in my situation, just that I am not alone). And I am eager to lose more!

Here are my current stats:
SW: 322.8 (highest weight = 325)
CW: 298.6
GW: 160 (will probably move it to about 154 when I get a little closer)

Erin - Welcome to the 300+ board! I totally understand what you mean about finding others in a similar situation. Congrats on your loss so far - that is great!

I managed to get all of the checks re-entered and our cash balance is now back where it should be. Thanks goodness for some efficient filing and fast typing. I am about to head to the gym, but I was having a bit of a - not sure what to call it - habit flashback, maybe? Anyway, one of the periods of my life when I put on the most weight was when I lived alone and was single. The reason for this was that every Friday night (any some other nights as well) I would allow myself to go to my favorite grocery store and buy whatever I wanted for dinner + dessert as a "reward" for having made it through the week. So, this afternoon my BF calls me to let me know that he might not be home on time because he has a critical server build, and tells me that I should find my own dinner. My first reaction was to start to think of all of the yummy stuff I could go pick up at the store on my way home . . . . huh? (sound effect of music stopping with an abrupt needle scratching across a record). Not only hasn't this been my modus operandi for YEARS, it certainly isn't the way I have been thinking lately. It was just so strange for me that this popped right back up after all these years. It makes me wonder what else I will find lurking inside my head.

Since I have the evening to myself, I will probably be checking back in later.

Oh, and Kayley - no matter what we look like now imagine how inspiring it will be when one day soon we can post a new picture that really shows our losses and totally inspire each other. I don't think I look all that great in my picture either, but then again I don't see myself as I really am so what's the difference? Hopefully that will be something I can work on over time.

I think you should take a new pic when you go to the concert - I am guessing you are going to get fairly decked out, right?

Erin - to the forum! It's definately nice to be able to relate to other people that know where you are coming from! I look forward to getting to know you!!! Congrats on your loss so far! That's fantastic!

Nancy - It's crazy how old habits never really go away, even if they are WAY BACK in your mind! Way to go on getting everything done, and DONT stop at the grocery store! lol...it'll only tempt you!

Nancy - Haha...not particularly. I'm going to wear my black bondage pants (size 20, please fit then! lol), and my Velvet Acid Christ T-shirt, and a black hoodie. I was going to wear my dreadfalls, but I don't wanna go through the trouble, and then have them come out while I'm rocking out! LOL...they are NOT cheap! I'll have to take a pic of me in my falls sometime and show you all.

Hi everyone,

I am so excited . I got to change my tracker for my normal weigh in day today and I am down 10 pounds since last Friday!!!! I'm sure some may be water weight since getting back on the program but I don't care as long as it is going back down.

Jilly: I love the paper towel thing. I have never heard that but it is a great visual for me. I always use visuals. Thank you for sharing that one.

Nancy: Glad you were able to get your stuff done in time. Don't even go to the grocery store on Friday. Just find something to eat at home! You can do it. You are not the same person you were before so that is just old thinking.

Kayley: Have fun in Chicago. Sounds like an adventure.

Green: Welcome. We are glad that you are here and that you have found support from people who do know what you go through every day of your life.

Blessings to you all,
Dogpal

You all inspired me to change my avatar. Assuming that it did change properly..you're now looking at one of our engagement photos! Otherwise it's still my bacon and eggs smiley.

I hope I can post again with you guys. I was doing so well. I had lost 20 pounds and then I allowed myself to fall completely off track. The difference in how I move and feel can't be ignored. So I am back. Trying to still reach my goal of losing 100 pounds for the year. I'll be weighing in again on Sunday to find out where I'm starting from. Glad to be back!

Kayley – In my youth (hah – not that I am that old) I was a goth/new wave chick. I have seven piercings in my left ear to prove it, but unfortunately very few pictures. I SO wish now that I had taken some, especially before some of the concerts when I would really make myself up. There was also that time I streaked my hair red and hot pink . . . oh, the memories. I have one picture that is rather mild from about the age of 16, but that is pretty much it.

Dogpal – 10lbs - that is so fantastic!!!! That is so inspiring and definitely something for us all to remember. A few days ago you were feeling so down and feeling like things weren’t going to work for you and look at you now. Whenever any of us feel like giving up it is so important to remember that our next success could be right around the corner.

Julee – That is a great pic of you and your fiancé.

Teahoney – you may have fallen a bit off track, but you are back here so all is not a loss. I am definitely wishing you good luck for Sunday. Where in NY are you?

Well, I did not stop on my way home. Luckily I did some shopping last night and had some veggie burgers in the freezer, which several people here have mentioned. I had two of those and a salad and it was a great dinner. I even have some calories left for a sugar free Klondike bar later if I want it.

I think I am going to do my taxes and do some organizing in iTunes, because tomorrow I am going to get myself an iPod! It is my reward for having kept to my exercise goals for the first two months of the year. I am very proud of myself and what better reward than something to help me stay motivated while I exercise. I still haven’t decided whether I am going to get the 4GB Nano or go all the way and get the 60GB video. I will probably make my decision tomorrow when I go to the Apple store, but if anyone has any words of wisdom, that would be great.

Nancy - Then we are sorta along the same spectrum....or rather, what you used to be! LOL! Although, I'm more of an Industrial chick myself, and once I lose more weight, I can get some awesome cyber clothes!!! What a great reward! I'd really like an MP3 player, since you know...I download illegally instead of paying for songs...so an Ipod wouldn't really work with me! Good luck finding a good deal on one! And GREAT! Not going to the store!
