Talking Newbie in VA

Just wanted to say hi and wondered if there is anyone out there using the Insulin resistance diet? I'm just getting started seriously in dieting but I tried this one a few months ago and lost 5 pounds and still haven't gained it back!

Like I said I started it a while ago so I'd have to find my book to get your total info, but the basic is cutting down sugar and balancing your foods.. for every 15 g of carbs you eat 7g of protein and no more than 30g of carbs in one meal.

I am trying to reduce the amount of sugar I eat. No more sweets. Sweets are my weakness, I like sweets, cake, candy and bread, love chocolate. I am abstainign from them right now. When I go to church, there are some sweets in my class that are offered to us. I usually just eat 1. I am trying to eat healthy, eating more salads, my Mom's vegetable soup, and cereal, getting more fresh fruits and vegetables.

Is your diet for diabetics? I'm an insulin dependant diabetic and am looking for a new diet to try!
I live in VA also-Richmond!

I'm not sure if the insulin resistance diet is for diabetics or not.. I'm going to have to find the book and let you know, but I'm sure you could ask your doc too. Hey you're only an hour from me!
