The Firm was one of the first videos to combine resistance training with aerobics. They were the first to do "Tall Box" exercises (basically using a stool that's shorter than a chair but taller than a regular stool, used with "hover squats" to do some amazing quad squat movements). They are one of the leaders among advanced exercisers.
I have and use their Firm Basics Fat Burning tape. Firm Basics was a series of three videos that came out a couple years ago, no longer available. One was upper body, one lower body, and one fat burning. They are the intermediate version of many of the normal Firm moves. I love the tape.
I looked at the TransFirmer. I have a tape that works iwth a step, though I've never done step aerobics, and I don't have a step. The TransFirmer system includes two step pieces that can be combined in various ways for different exercises. I was taken aback, however, when I looked at various steps, and found the weight limits were usually around 200 pounds. I'm not sure what the limit is on the TransFirmer steps, but the the basic, sturdy, "health club" style step is 200 pounds. Cheaper steps are probably less sturdy. So I'm waiting on the whole step aerobics thing until I've lost more weight.
That being said, I think you'll love the TransFirmer system. It's an intermediate/advanced program, and from what I've read, folks REALLY get results. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you as you get the program and begin working it.
