Sorry I didn't get back last week. In addition to being in a classroom everyday, I got my resume together and brought a few to my grad school - they are having a recruitment day and I'm hoping that the school districts for which I submitted a resume will want to interview me.

Welcome to the newcomers! Congratulations to the losers and those who maintained (better than a gain). Welcome back Karen! Glad to hear that you are all settled in.

I did not make it to my meeting this week - I had TOM, bad cramps and stayed up way to late on Friday night. I did not have the best of weekends...(I should have gone to my meeting). I think Saturday was because of the stress of eye doctor. I had a dilation test because I got a huge floater in one eye. It turns out to be something that I have to watch (posterior vitreal detachment) - if I get a certain visual effect I have to have a laser procedure asap to prevent a tear. Otherwise, it may just resolve itself. In any case, Tony and I went to Trader Joe's and ended up getting some dark choc. covered raisins. Tony ate more of them than I did on Sat night but I did go off program. Yesterday was dinner at my mom's. Most things there were core and I did better than I usually do at my mom's but I ate too much. I did count the things I needed to.

What with the weekend and TOM my sneak peek is awful. I'm determined to stay OP this week, even with my being on vacation and Tony and I going to AC today, coming back on Wed. The good news is that my hip seems to be a bit better. I got on the spin bike yesterday and did 20 minutes - not all out but not at the easiest setting either, and I felt fine afterwards. I'm going to bring something to wear to the gym at the hotel and try the elliptical tomorrow and do some yoga later today. Between that and eating (and drinking) reasonably, I should be OK.

I'll be back on Wed - have a great few days!

Good Morning!

Judy - I'm in the same TOM boat as you, luckily all the idiotic food cravings have subsided with its arrival though. Not a good time to be climbing on the scale. I had a problem with floaters last year in my right eye - I was almost driven to distraction by them for a few months. They seem to have settled down for the most part now, and I occasionally notice a large one, but not very often. It's more annoying than anything else. It's grand getting old, isn't it?!

I've been journalling on my Fitday software and it seems to be helping to keep me more or less on track.

Things have warmed up here; it was -24 on Saturday night, only -8 today. Much better.

Hope you have a great day; I'm off to drink a big cold glass of water. Our well water is delicious!

Down another 1.1kg (2.42lbs) - making a total of 14.74lbs.

Judy and Karen ~ It's also my TOM too so the last week has been a trial trying to curb my food cravings. I baked a lot of goodies on Saturday night so have been dipping into those a bit too much for my liking, but the good news is I managed to restraint myself far more than I normal would.

Judy ~ Have a great time in AC.

Karen ~ My Aunt and Uncle are here from Moncton, NB at the moment. I'm sure they're glad to be missing such cold weather, lol.

Off to go shopping to try and find my Mum a 60th birthday present. Wish me luck, she's so hard to buy for.

i haven't posted in this thread yet because i feell like all i do is come here and say that i went off plan and ate a lot of junk, etc... i feel like last week i was just being totally negative. it's hard this dieting stuff.

i've found weekends are really tough for me. i can do well monday until friday at about 4 pm and then the next two and a half days are chaos and binging and . it's hard cause steve and me are together and we've always done is gone out for supper. so friday, saturday and sunday are eating out days. & i can't figure out how to make healthy food choices at restaurants. the pizza and curry and pasta and nachos call my name.

*sigh* maybe it'll get better? i started that food accountability thread so the whole world is going to see my weekend binging. maybe that will encourage me not to binge?

silverfern--i see that you've almost reached your exercising goal and there's still six days left in the month! you are an exercising machine!

judy--have a great trip!

karen--i'm in winnipeg and i know how cold it's been all over canada! crazy! at the worst it was minus 37 with the windchill.

i'm weighin in on friday so i hope it goes well. got my fingers crossed.

Hi all...

Judy, hope you've had a good break in AC!

Tanya, you're doing so well with all your exercise! Your aunt and uncle will be proud of Canada's medal haul at the Olympics today!

Carrie - it's warmed up a lot here, still below zero, but not bad at all. Most restaurants have online menus and nutrition info...could you try planning ahead for the weekend so you know what you're going to be eating? Or make a double batch of something during the week so you eat at home but don't have to cook on the weekend? Nothing wrong with being negative sometimes...we all get that way. The important thing is to move on once you've gone off track and not just decide to pack it in.

I'm being a couch potato this morning, have been watching the Olympics...I'm off to the shower and then will do my second freebie session at Curves.

Have a good day, everyone!

Karen

Can I join you guys if I am going to meetings every other week? I am just too busy this time of year to go every week. I still weigh in at home though.

I was up a pound.... doesn't surprise me, I had a very off-the-wagon week with very little exercise. That's going to change this week!! I'm determined!!

(Now to go do the walk of shame... change my ticker up a pound...)

Hi everyone.
I am a at home weigh in also.
I dont have the money right now; I really want to see if I can do this before I buy a WW package. I posted my story in the general board.
I forgot to mention I have pcos as well as PORTION control problems.
I am hoping I can over come this.

Carrie ~ I can imagine how hard it must be dining out and trying to make healthy choices. Curries and nachos would be calling my name too. I'm drooling just at the thought, lol. WTG on the food accountability thread. Hope it works for you. I've actually surpassed my Feb goal but the stupid ticker doesn't know how to make allowance for that

Karen ~ I haven't managed to watch much of the Olympics as most of it is screened through the night. I did see the women's (can't remember the exact name of the event) cross-skiing where the leader thought she was home and hosed so showed off on the last jump and lost her balance and ended up coming second. She must feel absolutely destroyed. Have a great workout at Curves.

Kempyd ~ of course, you can join in.

rlc ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Hang in there!! WTG on maintaining through such a difficult time.

Britomart ~ Good luck with your determination this week.

Ann ~ Good luck with your weight loss journey. I also have PCOS (non-traditional). Portion control is a problem for me as is controlling those carb cravings.

Off to do some work before I pick up my youngest from Preschool. This morning was the first morning he didn't whine and plead not to go. What a difference it makes

Thanks well, I was down 2 lbs this week. I am not really familiar with you guys yet but I will stick around and get to know you. I have been doing WW for 7 1/2 weeks now and have lost a total of 13 lbs. My goal is about 25 so I need to keep working.

silverfern--way to go on completing your exercise challenge. what's your plan for march?

kempyd, & ann--welcome just jump right in!

britomart--too bad about the gain, but exercise twice as hard this week and see what happens!

rlc--sorry about your dad. don't beat yourself up if you don't do well eating. this is a very tough time right now.

so............

i stepped on that scale this morning and it said 245 pounds. i am so happy! i am definitely on cloud nine!

i also got my hubby to measure me yesterday and those inches are coming off. it's amazing what you can accomplish when you seriously put your mind to it.

thanks for all the support ladies during my 'maintaining' weeks.

I have gotten in my walk for today and I do feel better about it. I wanted to go longer but Mother Nature had other plans. I guess I will have to do better tomorrow.

Do any of you feel like you burn out on exercise. I just don't want to go overboard. I kicked it up a little this week and I am scared that I will start to hate exercise.
