Default This is my confession...

HELP!! I'm an in SUCH a workout slump! I need someone to tell me to get my rear in gear! I haven't worked out in- gulp- a week now! Last Friday I was empowered by my workout session, really feeling it, with a can-do, 'this is it' attitude. Saturday morning I woke up and thought I'd take a day off from exercise- and I haven't been back to it since!
I know it's not that I'm tired or bored of my routine yet, cause I haven't been using these tapes very long. I guess my thing is that I just can't take a day off!
I guess I just need to drag my butt in there and make myself do it. Geez, why can't I be one of those people who love to workout!

I feel you! If anyone feels you, I do! Girl, I always take a day off that turns into a week. This week, I didn't exercise at all. I never exercise on my period anymore though. So next week I'm gonna get back in there. I hate exercise! I've said it a million times and I'll continue to say it! But if you need motivation, and God knows I do. I'd say let's challenge each other. You wanna aim for 200 minutes of exercise for next week ending on Friday?
I always look at my motivational jeans aka goal jeans, and that helps when I'm on my treadmill. So, get a piece of clothing that you're dying to wear and put it up somewhere! Good luck!

P.S. 200 minutes doesn't seem like a lot for one week, but these days it's pushing it for me!

I have myself signed up for the President's Challenge. My goal is to hit 5 times a week of 30 min or more. I've been able to achieve it for almost 5 weeks now by never letting my off-day be in the middle of the week. I plan to workout everday Monday-Friday. That way, my off days are usually on the weekend (when I'm usually off plan anyways). Also, checking off and logging my exercise on there has really motivated me to keep going, even if I just end up doing 30 minutes of weights instead of a 30 minute walk.

I am with you all, I havent ran since Sunday! I will begin again tomorrow though, I have NO excuse not to run on Saturday or Sunday- even though it IS snowing, but still, NO EXCUSES!
I just try to remind myself of all the progress I have made, fitting into jeans that I couldnt wear for the last 2 years that FIT now and how much better I feel, that gets my butt out the door. I dont know what happend this week, I have been so busy- but still not a good enough excuse.

Thanks for the responses! I managed to drag my butt in the other room and get in 25 minutes of my tape before my kids woke up from their naps, so I'm feeling better that I got that much in. It was sad to look in the mirror in there and see the difference that even laying off one week can do. Last Saturday I could see my upper arms tightening a bit and my tummy not as poochy (noticeable only to me, I'm sure, but still), and today- um, no. So, I'm going to try and remember how good it feels to feel fitter. Maybe that can be my motivation for now.

And I'm with you Mia, I'll take the challenge and try to aim for at least 200 minutes of exercise this week! Thanks!

Oh boy, do I know what you mean! I, too, could easily allow exercise to slip out of my life. I always think there are so many other (read: enjoyable) ways I could spend the time. I've only gotten back into it in the last few weeks. I'm one of those who starts January full of enthusiasm but peter out sometime in March -- hopefully, this time will be different. Regardless, I always have to *make* myself do it.

Today could have been a problem. I work out at home and after doing my weights, I was sorely tempted to just let the cardio slide. Hey, it's Friday, start of the weekend, right? Well, just to make things different, I decided to forego the treadmill and become...

A hip-hop back-up dancer!

I cranked up a bunch of funk tunes on my computer's ITunes and proceeded to tear it up! Yeah, baby, I was awesome! Every move was golden! The (make-believe) camera was loving every minute of it, recording me from every conceivable angle. The music was thumping, the lights were flashing and I was a hit! And it was actually fun (even though I had to rest between songs )!

I was also hot, tired and super stinky sweaty afterwards. But it was something new and different and at least I did it. Now I can rest!

I guess my point is: Is there something new and different you can try? Maybe trying something new can help you push past the slump.

I played dodgeball with the kids I work with today (my first time since middle school). I threw terrible and screamed like the girly girl I am, but it was fun.

Lena, you just cracked me up!! I think I'm gonna follow in your dance steps and bust a move tomorrow instead of my workout tape!

DeafinlySmart- WTG on getting out there with the kids! I was gonna take my boys into the backyard this afternoon and burn some cals chasing them around, but then they decided it would fun to pour cups of water into the playroom floor vents and on their heads, so in haste I revoked their fun-in-the-backyard privilege for today- thus sealing my own fate.

Sometimes I talk myself into working out by telling myself that I will just do a 1/2 an hour instead of a whole hour...usually I find once I get going I end up doing at least 45 minutes...if not the whole hour. For me - the hardest part is getting started sometimes. I do have two planned off days a week, but even those I still hafta walk the dog. He takes a day off for no one!

I like the goal jeans idea and Lena's plan
