Default whole wheat flour?

so can I just replace any white flour with whole wheat and make something more SBDish? like to thicken pan gravy, can I stir in whole wheat flour and then it's ok?

You can substitute whole wheat flour easily for thickening and breading. It may have a slightly different taste but it hasn't bothered my family. It is a little tougher with baked goods to get the same texture. Whole Wheat pastry flour works better there and in fact, you might want to check out the recipe section for recipes that have worked well for others.
