Default New Strategy Didn't Work

ok, so i tried to eat the calories that all the basal metabolic and calorie calculators told me to eat (2000-2200) to see if I would still lose weight on it. well, I may have lost 1 lb this week but I have been feeling very lethargic, which has made me not workout as long as I usually do. Bleh.

so this week (i start my weight weeks on wednesdays), I am going back to my previous limit of 1200-1500 calories and 1 hr workout per day. I had so much more energy in previous weeks. Strange, huh?

Anyway, just thought I'd share that even though I may have been eating the proper number of calories for a 1-2 lb loss each week, I felt like crap and had no energy - very weird reaction.

I am getting a BMR test done soon, I'll post what the results are. I know that we are all different, but I wonder how close those calculators get??

Sometimes I wonder about those calculators. The amount of calories suggested for me seem way too high. I eat 12-1500 calories a day too. I say, if what you're doing is working, keep it up.

Sandi, I am interested to see how your BMR test goes. I have been thinking about getting one. I know the calculators are way off for me. (High by over a thousand calories a day) Suzi, I agree with the rest of the posts, everybody has to find there own way. it sounds like you feel comfortable with yours.

Suz, trial and error is the name of the game. Good for you for giving it a shot to see what the results would be.

Just listen to your body, Suz. You are doing a wonderful job so far. Our 'stats' are so similar, it is good to see we are both having success.

For me, if I eat 1800+ calories, I start to feel like a slug. Our bodies amazingly accomodate to our reductions..so I keep in the 1200-1400 range and feel very nourished even with all my additional exercise. And speaking of exercise, since recommitting early Jan, I crave daily workouts. I love getting back to that feeling like an athlete.
