Hi All,
Well, I decided to start the Med Diet tomorrow. Funny thing, it's like going back to my roots. I grew up in the States but I'm originally from Israel and much of the diet I had growing up with very Med-like for a while. Salads at our house were cucumber, tomato, parsley, lemon juice, and olive oil - my mom started adding romaine lettuce only later when she figured out we wouldn't eat it otherwise

.
I had a few questions, since I ordered the book only yesterday and it'll take time to get here:
I'm a vegetarian, but from what I've read on the MD so far, that's not going to be a problem at all. I'm wondering how soy and tofu might fit into this type of diet.
Is there any comprehensive list of foods that the MD diet entails, other than what's on the essentials list? I'm talking about things like specific grains, dairy, etc. It would be nice to have a whole list.
Are there any vegetarian-type menus of the MD online? I haven't been able to find any.
What about dry fruit? I've lived in Israel so I know that dried dates and figs are eaten. My grandfather (typically MD person, as he's from Yemen) used to end his evening meal with a cup of turkish coffee and a few dates. What about other dried fruits (in moderation, obviously.)
Sorry for all the questions!
Tam
