Default Newbie, well sort of.....

Hi,

I joined these forums about 2 years ago and was doing really well (was half way to my target weight loss). Then life got in the way! We moved house, husband started a new job and then we had a major family bereavement.

Well a new year has started and I am motivated and determined to make 2006 the year I shed the pounds.

So Hello to you all. I recognise a couple of names.

Doing Slimming World again as it seems to be the plan that suits me the best. Also started exercising, nothing major, just easing into it slowly (and it's far too cold to even get motivated!)

Anyone else doing Slimming World out there?

Hi Heavensbug,

I am new to posting here too, although have been lurking on and off for a few years.

I'm doing Slimming World too - am in my 3rd week and doing well, lost 8 1/2 lb so far. I have done it a few times in the past but never lasted more than about a month, so hopefully this time will be different. I found an old book from when I joined two years ago, but then I was 1 1/2 stone heavier than when I joined this time, so in between I managed to lose some weight on my own, mainly by cutting out food intolerances (wheat, dairy and some others) and portion control. I felt I needed the extra motivation though so i rejoined a few weeks ago, but am still restricting my intolerances but eating so much more and feeling great!

I bought the SW 'Curry Feast' recipe book that came out last month and have tried some recipes - it is amazing!! Proper Indian food (it's written by an Indian chef), but all healthy and virtually fat free - even things like onion bhajis and samosas which are usually deep fried are in there, but healthy and uncompromised on taste. Well worth investing in if you like cooking and like Indian food.

Good luck!
Luna

Thanks All!

I have loads of books from Slimming World and the Curry Feast sounds Yum! Will have to buy that when I'm at class.

I was actually half a stone heavier this year than I was when I started 2 years ago. So I have even more to shift!

Oh well, makes me more determined to succeed!
