Default Bobbidipity...about macro nutrient ratios...

Hi!

I thought I'd start a new thread since I didn't want to take over Melanie's.

I read about all this in Burn Fat, Feed Muscle:

50-55% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 15-20% fat as a starting point.

My calories per day is 1200 so I multiplied the %'s to get the # of calories for each macro nutrient.

Then, I converted everything to grams using this chart:

1 gram of carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram of protein = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories

Hope this helps!

-Bella

Thank you for sharing this information, Bella. Very interesting.

My averages from FitDay for the past two weeks look like this:
Fat 22%
Carbs 56%
Protein 20%
Alcohol 2% (quite alarming what a big ol' margarita will do for one's calorie count )

I hear ya about the margarita (or in my case, a glass or 2 of wine)!

I'm struggling with my ratios bigtime! I know what I need to do, I'm a smart girl but I just can't get myself to do it.
