Default PMS water weight

I hate that for my 3rd weight in I have water weight from PMS. I wasn;t able to go to the meetings for 2 weeks so I did the weigh-in at home and I did really well. I was down 8.5lbs but now I have pu back on 2 lbs of that. I know that is normal but I just want to see more of a loss for this weigh in. Is there anything I can do to help with weigh-in tomorrow or am I just stuck with this until next week? I guess I am just wanting to see a significant loss since i have been working so hard.

Hi. I cannot tell you how much I understand. I am dealing with the same thing, but each month is the same story.
To date, the only thing that I can say really works for me, and I gain between 5-8 pounds of water a month. (really sucks and began today). I get so irritated....I am tired of it and I have resolved that I have to accept it.
So what do I do? I take Pamprin. There is no caffiene and it does a relatively good job of releasing the water. I am planning on getting my bottle of it today at lunch. I have not ever started it this early, as my cycle doesnt start until Thurs or Friday, but with my current mood and water gain and irritibility,I am going to start taking them today.
That, and a TON of water is always my fallback.
Hope it helps.

I'm going through the same thing this week myself. I weigh in on Sundays and I thought for sure I was going to gain but instead I lost 2.8lbs. And this was after my home scale said I'd gained 5lbs. I'm not sure why this works for me but I've always been told to drink more water. Strange, I know, because you want to lose water not drink more. But it works for me. The more I drink, the more I lose. Hope this helps!

I've never tried Pamprin but I think I might try it this week. Thanks for that advise. :

I am trying to down the water right now. I have never tried Pamprin for water loss b4. I might have to try that. Maybe the scale at the meetings will be nice to me in the morning.

FYI this is just something you need to 'learn to live with' it is a part of life and the average woman gains 4-7 pounds during TOM. You watch the trends and you know where the gain comes eventually and when you hit maintenance you know when to 'not weigh.'

Don't try to play games or fool the scale --- it is not worth the 'head' games or worth it.

Just take it if you have a loss or just take the gain when you know it is caused by natural body functions.

I'm feeling your pain too! AF showed up full force this morning. I'm taking Pamprin - for it's main reason... CRAMPS!!! And downing the water. Otherwise, I think it's just part of everything. I hate it because honestly... I get AF 1-2 times a year. UGH!!!

Pamprin is my best friend! Truly it works for water retention. Also yes, drink more water. The more you drink, the less you retain. It sounds odd, but go get that bottle of water. I can always tell if I am well hydrated by my urine. Sorry if that is too much information. When your urine is clear and not yellow, you are well hydrated and most likely not retaining too much. The darker yellow, the more water you need. You end up peeing like crazy for the first few days of water overdose, but it isn't as much once you maintain your clear pee status.

If you need a visual motivation, make a graph of your weight loss over time. You will see that at TOM, it always levels off, or goes up a bit, but the next week it drops like crazy, since your regular weight loss is still happening, even though the water has made the scales go up. You will see that your loss keeps going on a downward trend.

I work for a urologist and yoru urine should not be clear...it should be the color of straw. Clear means you are OVERHYDRATED.

Exclamation

Hello everyone!
I just found something at the grocery store that might help.
Is call "Aqua-Ban" is a water diuretic (water pill).
Is for Premenstrual and Menstrual Bloat, Water Weight Gain, Puffiness and Tenderness. Works great!!!
Is less than $4.00 and you can buy it over the counter. They should be near the weight control pills.
This is my second time taking them and works wonderfull.
You would loose the weight as normal or stay the same but it would not make you go up.
And of course drink a lot of water...
I lost 2 pounds from Monday to today and this is the second day of my period.
Hope this helps a little.
Just in case is a light pink box and I bought it at a Krogger.

Talk to you all later and take care.
Good luck loosing weight!!!

I weighed in today and it wasn't as bad as I though. I am down a total of 8.6lbs and I just finished the 4th week. I am thinking that next week will be better since the water will be gone. I did take your advise and downed the water. It wasn't that bad until last night. That is when it all hit me.

Hi guys!
Okay....as usual, I love my Pamprin. Absolutely swear by it. Started it yesterday and I swear that I was nicer this AM.
As far as all of the techniques, I agree that my TOM causes me to bloat and get crabby. So be it. I still don't have to like it, though!
Regardless, as long as I feel okay and I do my best to stay on my track, I generally do okay.
Just keep the motivation high, use whatever works for you and by the time it's over, we will have forgotten it for 3 weeks anyway.
Be good and stay strong.
