Default OT: Journaling anyone?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with information about online journaling, Im thinking about doing that so i have somewhere to rant and write down my goals thought's and feelings all in one spot. I have never really looked into it but i know a few here do it so maybe they can guide me to a good site, I don't want a plain boring page something that has options, if i wanted boring i would write on a piece of paper at home lol. So anyway's if anyone has some information for me about a site or how to get started and the options please pm me or let me know here thanks in advance! Kim

There is a spot here at 3fc that allows you to post links to your "blog" web log. You might check out some of the ones posted there. On mine, once I learned a bit of the code, was able to customize it to what I wanted. Although I still haven't gotten to exactly what I want, it's coming along. HTH

I journal at www.blogspot.com. You can check it out and see if you may want to blog there. I don't blog here cause I am very frank and sometimes write things that are not so pretty. I want to respect other peoples feelings since I know alot of people come to this site. I just think what I write in my blogspot journal is just to much info to put on the 3fc journal section.

I'm sure more people will pipe up about where they blog at. Probably tonight you will have plenty of places to check out and see if they are what you are looking for.

I too, keep an online journal but let me just offer a word of warning, a blogger beware if you will! I use my blog to ramble about everything in my life, not just weight related issues. So I've been happily filling my posts with all sorts of intimate details, which I'd only assumed my anonymity would keep safely guarded from the "real world". Imagine my shock when I recently realized that a family member had stumbled across my blog link in my 3fc siggy and proceeded to read through all the gory details of my deeply private life; details which I have worked so diligently for years to keep very closely guarded. I honestly could have just died!! So, just keep in mind that even if you think you're sending your anonymous words out there into the vast expanse of cyberspace, there is always the remote possibility of someone you "know" finding them, however unlikely it may seem. Not to scare you away from blogging or anything, because I have found it to be an amazingly therapeutic outlet for expressing the feelings and venting the gripes that I so earnestly struggle with in "real life", and honestly wouldn't trade it for the world, regardless of whatever improbable situation has occurred. I just want you to be aware of the possibility so that you can be more prepared for the shock than I obviously was.

I love LiveJournal and Xanga. They both offer very good free hosting. Check it out.

I have a couple of journals. One at LiveJournal, which is the day to day stuff; a crafty one at Blogger; and a weight loss one at Blogger.

I have two at Livejournal. Synger is where I do family and day-to-day and philosophy musings. Syngerhealth is my weight-loss blog.

Whenever I find myself writing a response here on the boards (or the other two I frequent) that is more than a couple of paragraphs, I usually copy it into my blog with an intro line. If I'm putting that much thought into a response, then it's a hot button item for me.

And those things are things I need to recall and remember, and that's primarily what I use my blog for. I go over the old posts when I need some encouragement, or I post when I need to vent. It's VERY helpful for me to review where I've been and what my goals were six months or a year ago.

If you don't like the idea of something public and you don't mind spending a bit of money, this is the best journalling software I could find: http://www.lifejournal.com/ (not to be confused with livejournal). You can catagorize different entries, it also has a time line to help you write about events in your life, and it has this thing called a daily pulse where you can rate your moods.

I use blogger as well. No one in my private life knows I'm here OR on blogger so it works for me
