Lightbulb Small Body Frame Anyone?

I was wondering if anyone has small body frame. I am Asian and I have smaller body frame. To give you an idea, I did not see a hit of my collar bone until I was 123 lb; compared to my friend’s collar bone was obvious at 160 pounds. My body fat is high also, well above 25% even when I was about 112 pounds. Some people think my goal of 108 lb was to low, but I think the BMI indicator of underweight doesn’t necessarily applies to everyone.

Everyone's body is different so definitely take that into account. How tall are you? Have you been at your goal weight before? How did you look/feel? These are all things to take into consideration.

I did a weight control study before and the lead researcher was the same height as me and said she was comfortable at 150lbs because it was too much work to maintain a lower weight for her frame. For me on the other hand I would feel more comfortable with myself closer to 140lbs. And my friend that I run with is 120lbs soaking wet and about an inch shorter than me but proportionally she looks ok because everything is smaller.

Hey girl. I too have a small frame. I have a year and a half old lil girl and am now trying to lose the baby weight that I thought would just fall off. WRONG. So Im now trying to get to my prepreggers weight of 120 and have been at 144. I want to eat healthy and exercise because like you, I was the skinniest fat person around. Meaning, I was skinny, but had fat on me. Dont wait for your collar bone to poke out. ITs not attractive anyways. If we exercise and build muscle it will help all of those areas look good. Good luck.

I have a small body frame too. I would like to get down to 107 and see what I look like, but I have feeling I'm still not going to look good. I can grab handfuls of fat on my body (TMI!), and right now I'm around 120. I have a friend about the same height as me, almost same build, and she looks quite normal at a little under 100, so I think maybe that should be my goal.

Good luck!

It's great knowing I am not the only one out there.

lizzbabe - I am only 5'3", but bone structure is lot smaller than other people my height. I have been at my goal weight of 108 lb before, and I feel great. And the thing is, although I was skinny, but not bonny.

beaner0620 - I love what you said about been the skinniest fat person. At 145 lb, I had no chin and my neck was almost non existent.

verytomato – we are in the same boat. I think 108 lb will be fine for me. But we’ll wait and see.

Miaka,
My dad is japanese and my mom is irish hungarian lol, I know what you mean about a small body frame. I am 5'2 and I am so much smaller than other girls my same height it seems. I notice that I think I feel and look good closer to 110 but would love to be around 105. That is what I weighed in college and it just felt right. When I tell people this on these forums they are often shocked and don't really account for my small frame. I would agree with you on the differences that are apparent with the BMI calc.

That's definitely true about the BMI indicator not necessarily being accurate. Muscle mass, bone density, frame size, all should be taken into an account.
