Default Losing for April Fools! Wk 5, Jan 23,2006

Losing for April Fools
Challenge Group!

We are a group of determined people who have set a goal to reach within the next 75 days (11 weeks).

Everyone is welcome to join in at anytime during the challenge. All you need to do is set a goal for yourself. It can be weight loss, exercise, or maintenance; whatever it is you need support and motivation for.

We are all here working hard to stay strong and motivated and supporting each other is the best way to do this. Come as often as you can, post as much as you can and make 2006 the year of health and happiness for you!

We will post a new thread each Monday.

It is a documented fact that people who set goals are the most successful. Goals give you long-term vision and short-term motivation. By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind. By setting goals, you will also raise your self-confidence, as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set.

As I research weight loss and read the success stories of other people who have maintained their loss the same themes seem to run through most of them.

If you don’t enjoy it don’t eat it.
If you don’t enjoy the exercise find one you can like.
Accept control, you are in charge of what you put in your mouth.
Take care of yourself first.
Take time to chew each bite and wait between bites.
Water, water, water, exercise, activity, move.

I am sure each of you has read of someone who has lost weight and maintained successfully and you can probably add more to this list. We all know these things we have heard them for years. Now we need to take these pieces of information and put them together in a way that works for us.

I know that you are all working hard to be successful in your goals and the proof of that is in our results! Of the 106 people who have signed on for the challenge 44% are posting their weight loss and the 47 people that posted have lost a total to date of:

277.91 pounds! In only 4 weeks! That is 2 whole adult people gone, no longer here, never to be seen again!

You are Awesome, inspiring, motivated, exceptional, strong people! You all deserve a wonderful hug and many pats on the back!

We are on fire! And I know that we will continue to throw our pounds into that fire and keep it burning!

chewysmom: Welcome! Glad to have you with us. 15 pounds is a great goal and drinking more water will help that happen!

bigmamatita: You are doing just great! Wonderful to have dropped a pant size! It feels great to take care of yourself doesn't it!

Jailene: Don't worry Jailene your 1 pound will be included in next Mondays Total! LOL!

Everyone keep up the good work. I am going to walk again this morning as I have no time for the gym today It looks like I may be a little short on my quest for the 50 this week as my home scale is short by almost 1 pound. Maybe todays walk will shake a little more off!

I was out of town this weekend - getting a new puppy. He is so sweet and cute (2 month old golden retriever). Anyway, I didn't have a loss this week so I'll just keep plugging along and see what happens next week. I'm thinking about slightly altering my diet, we'll see what happens. Best of luck to everyone this week!

Happy Monday everyone! Well I am still solidly at 139. But after spending a week on holiday I am just glad I did not gain any weight.

I am really trying to get back on track this week with eating right and working out. My goal is to lose one pound this week.

Anvy - ooh, puppies are SO CUTE!!! You will have to post a picture for us.

Big Mamatita - congrats on the 2.2 loss! That is the way to do it, one week at a time!

I'm in! I have a BIG book conference coming up in April (I'm an author) and I am scheduled to speak! NO WAY I want to look like THIS! So I've set a hefty goal of losing 30 lbs by April 22nd. I made a ticker, but forgot this challenge is for april first. I doubt I'll meet a 30 lb loss by then. Hopefully 25!

I'll weigh on friday and then I'll officially know where I'm at. I'm guessing 210 by the way my clothes fit. That's seven lbs down from the 217 I started at. We'll see on friday.

Let me know if I'm joining the wrong way!

Wow! Congrats everyone on the weight loss!! I haven't weighed myself, and I'm gonna skip out on that this week cuz I went a little off-plan. And to top it off, I have my period, so I'm sure I have a few extra pounds in me because of that.

But I'm not giving up!! I went shopping on Saturday, and saw that I dropped a jean size!!! Woo-hoo!! Just when my motivation was running out, that just gave me the extra oomph I needed. I'm starting the Jillian Michaels 12-week program today, so wish me luck on that! I'm excited to get back on the wagon.

Great job everyone!

Well I'm back into this with full enthusiasm.
I am going home to see my Mum on April 8th and thought how cool would it be if I managed to lose the weight I need before I went home.
It would be such a surprise for her.
So I'm going to do my best and stop making excuses for why I can't do it.

AnVy1221: Congratulations! Now you will have lot's of exercise in the future! We all want to see pictures of the new sweetie!

Karma: Welcome! You are joining the right way! We are happy to have you. The more you come in and post the easier it will be to lose!

Danzer5570: Oh, I was worried for a moment during the first paragraph but you obviously have a plan and are ready to commit to it! Good for you! Awesome job losing a size!

chaarli: Good for you! There is no reason why you cannot succeed at this and your mom will be so proud of you when she sees you!

Way to go! That is so great, nothing feel like making a goal a reality!
