I just discovered something great. For one meal a day I usually have a chocolate flavored protein shake with almond milk, ground flax and acacia fiber.
I had a brainfart to add some chopped candied ginger in my handy dandy blender and it tasted fantastic! An added benefit is that it grinds the ginger up very fine so you get more nutrients from it plus it is more digestible. I get my candied ginger from Trader Joe's. It comes in bags of ginger "coins". They are pretty high calorie (30 cals each) so I just add two pieces to my shake. This is plenty to get a really good ginger flavor.
Ginger is supposed to be good for tummy troubles and arthritis plus I just love the taste.
