Smile Buffet Question

I haven't started this yet, planning on grocery shopping and getting to it this week.

Biggie question. About once a month, DH and I go to the casino's and the buffet. Usually I eat about 4 plates of crab legs (with butter), I love crab legs. I then have some salad and some lean roast beef. Now when I start this plan, will having a few plates of crab legs be bad for me, I know I'll have to nix the butter and go for lemon juice which is fine with me, and I usually have some cold shrimp as well with lemon, too ... and a salad? This is the one time a month my DH and I have together for the most part with nothing else bugging us and I have to admit, I love those crab legs (Have I mentioned that before?)

Well, according to the book crab and shrimp shouldn't be eaten until Wave 2, which would be 10 days after you start the plan. Whether this affects you, hard to say. The plan was constructed a certain way to help reduce cravings. I don't know why crab and shrimp are on Wave 2, but there but be some reason. I guess it's up to you. Every compromise you make may or may not be a problem.. we each are differnt. One person could do fine, another it might not help them control a craving.

Good Luck with whatever you choose.

Linda, one of the recipies on wave 1..in fact it was the first one I think... was a shrimp salad. On the chart for wave 1 it lists shrimp and crab...and lobster. I love this plan, but sometimes I think she can be a bit confusing...

Morrison...sounds like the casinos where we live! My dh used to work for the buffet at the casino until he started at the hospital cooking. I used to not be able to go for crab leg night 'cuz it's their biggest night of the week and dh would work it every time! And, I'm not dragging to little girls to go stand in line for 2 hours!

We are going next Sunday for my dh birthday, although it is Sunday brunch and there will only be crab legs if there were any left over from Friday. Moderation and planning is the key. Fill up on salad and tier 1 veggies...but have some crab legs. In moderation. That's what I'm going to do. (Well, crab legs if they have them...otherwise some lean meat). My biggest problem is that d*mn desert station! I have never seen that much selection of diet crashers anywhere else on earth! It's my favorite part of the buffet! Now next Sunday I will have to have the strength to stay away...for some reason I really don't see it as being much of a problem...I have confidence in myself

Oops you are right. I was looking at the wrong list. That's what I get for looking at it before I've had my coffee.

Yes crab is fine.. Never mind.

That's okay Linda! I just remember all the confusion over snacks, and so I thought I had missed it in the book where she said no shrimp or crab, but yet had it listed on "the list". Go have some coffee, you silly girl!
