Default Newbie here!

Hello my name is Samantha, feel free to call me Sam everyone else does! I am 23 with 2 daughters, Summer will be 4 in April and Kaytlin is 19 months.

I am 30-40 pounds overweight and I am having the hardest time getting started in my weightloss. I am so depressed on how I look and the more I think about it the more I want to eat. It's so easy being a stay at home to eat and have food at your finger tips.

I am looking for support and ways to get started and keep going. I am hoping on finding that, and great people!!

Hi Sam!
I know how you feel. I get bored alot and see as eating a "way out" of boredom. I haven't done that in awhile since I watch my almost 9 month old grandson, I am always on my toes! He sure keeps me busy!

Motivation is what you'll find here. There are so many of us here who don't have it; they just don't know how to use it. LOL! Sounds silly but it's true. I have to constantly remind myself I can sit for 1/2 hour and not lose anything or I can get up and walk for a 1/2 hour and have more energy to do more things. I'm not saying you can't sit down, just don't sit too long...you'll get too comfy and forget what you need to be doing.

Look around and see how others have been doing...go check out the "success" area....very inspirational!!

Hi Samantha!! I was a SAHM for many years (I'm a student now) so I can relate with that feeling of just wanting to just be home and eat the depression away. But it doesnt have to be that way! Just take that first step and everyday you will find yourself feeling better and better! I would strongly suggest keeping a journal, when you feel like eating get that thing out and start writing! You'll be amazed at what you learn about yourself! You can do this! Just take the control, make your first step today! Good luck to you!

Hi Sam, I'm a sahm mom too, and I know what you mean about the temptation to eat whatever, whenever!
What has helped me is just making one change at a time. First I started exercising regularly. A month later, I made the commitment to drink 3 quarts of water everyday. A month after that, I started keeping a food journal. It all seemed less overwhelming and easier to become habits.
