Post New To this Forum.

Hi everyone, my name is motivation86 and I joined this community today, because I need the support from you all. My highest weight was 307 pounds and I felt terrible when I saw that number on the scale. From that day, I decided to loose the weight, so far I lost 12 pounds. My goal weight is 175. It been so hard, my family and friends don't really give me the support I need. I know they care about me, but I just want more motivation from them. Well anyway, I feel a little better now, because this forum seems great, and some of the stories I read on here really inspired me too loose more of this weight. I also hope I can inspire you guys too.

Hi Motivation86! Don't feel bad, you're doing great! Just deciding to start can be so hard. How fast are you looking to lose the weight? I've taken off quite a bit from my high, but it's been a slow and steady progress and there have been setbacks. What I've learned is that it's best to go slow. Set reasonable short-term goals, and then increase them. I was doing great for a year and a half, and I fell off the wagon. I recently climbed back on with a SIXTY pound gain in 2.5 years. Talk about falling off the wagon! What I did was make a list of all of the unhealthy things that I didn't want to do anymore, and another list of the healthy things that I wanted to start doing. I started out by chosing one from each list and focusing on that. Once you get that down, it's a lot easier to simply move on to the next step, adding another healthy behavior, and subtracting another unhealthy one. It works a lot better for me. If I go on a 'diet' then it always fails. I mean, it makes sense! Changing your eating and exercize that radically and keeping to it would take waaay more will power than doing it gradually. I'm more concerned about keeping it off than losing it quickly =) though it'd be nice if I could do both!!! Good luck, feel free to PM me.

Default Im a newbie too

I am also new to the site. I would like to lose about 50 lbs, I think.
I have not weighed myself in 6months as I am afraid of what it will read.
I remember being about 153lb about 3 yrs ago. I think I have climbed to 200......again..not sure. I know I was asize 10, now a size 16.
I know I need to start eating right and exercising. Just looking for the motivation.
