Talking Over 200lbs to lose......Anyone else??

I have recommitted myself!!! (Before someone has me committed )

I just turned the BIG 40 and have realized that I have wasted so much time just screwin around. If I don't get serious about losing weight now, I may never. I am about 5'7" and weigh somewhere around 420 (I won't know for sure until I go to the doctors next week).

I am looking for others that are on the same journey that I am and would like additional support also. Maybe we can make this journey together!!!

Hello!
I notice you live in Vancouver Washington. I live on the Oregon coast...North part. I guess we're neighbors.
Anyway, welcome. There are alot of members here who need to lose 100, 200 plus pounds. So don't feel like you're the only one on this planet that is..... I was one of those people. Always feeling no one had the same problem as me. But, I came to realize that there are many people out there exactly like me! I lost 169 1/2 pounds since 2002! You can do this! It takes motivation, dedication, inspiration and lots of exercise and watching your food portions.

There's a forum for members who need to lose 100+. It's a great group of ladies/gents. You're also welcomed in ANY group at this site. No one will be turned away if they are wanting help.

Take care & stay strong!

Default Howdy!

Hi Emerald!
Glad to hear from a "neighbor" with such a warm welcome! (Have you floated away yet with all of this rain?) I have lurked around these boards for quite a while, but have never really posted. I guess I figured that would be too much of a commitment! I know that I will be posting a lot more when I get a chance. My computer at home is out for repairs, so I just do what I can at work right now.

Take care!!

Thumbs up

LOL!! I usually tell my family, "if you see me floating by, just pull me in." LOL! right now, Tillamook is slightly flooded..but with all the thunderstorms, hail, lightning and of course, the rain, we'll be flooded in no time. But, I still love living here; 10 miles from the beach when summer hits is a pretty quick trip when it's hot out.

My computer was down last week...but I noticed I need to get it checked again..doing"funny" stuff. Don't get caught at work!!! Some work places don't like personal time being used for their work time.

Did you join a group yet??? Let me know by PM'ing me.

Take care & stay strong!

And there's this forum.

I'm not sure what happened. itried to put in a link to the 300+ club. You'll find it. I think it's in general diet plans.

Honey, you are not alone!

I have about 120 to lose. I know it can seem hard, but like you I need to refocus. I have set seom small goals to start and I am using Fitday to help track my goals and daily counts. Good luck and reach out to me if you need a buddy.

Hi All,
I have over 200lbs to loose but am staying positive and realistic about my goals. I'd like to knock off 120 this year and get the remaining off next year before June 2007. Liannw, finding this website was one of those life lines that has made me realize that I don't have to do this alone even if it's not a face to face interaction.

The information and support I have received so far along with the motivation has got me on track where I'm keeping track of what I'm doing and taking responsibility for my actions. No more cheating myself, the honest truth is being put in writing with every piece of food and beverage that I consume so that I can show myself and my dietician that I am serious. Mind you it has only been a couple of days but I'm pumped that I can achieve my goals and I hope that you can too. My own motivational quote for myself that I have posted is, " Keep it moving, keep it fresh". I have tried for years to lose but then I fall off and lose interest. By trying a variety of things I don't follow the same routine and am able to stay motivated.

Feel free to contact me and we can correspond on the progess that we're all making.

Mish aka "Jonquils"

Default It's Me!!

Hi again! It was good to hear from all of you! Thank you for all of the encouragement. There are days when it definately is needed!

I had a wake-up call this past weekend. I have 10-year-old twin girls at home and neither one of them has a weight problem and they are both pretty active. One of my girls has always had a little belly on her but since she is pretty tall, it has never been much of a problem. When I was folding clothes on Sunday she told me that the jeans that I bought her for Christmas are a little tight in the waist. They are a girls size 16! That really scares me!! It finally dawned on me that my eating and lifestyle habits are really affecting my kids. I don't know why it took so long for me to realize it, but I definatly know it now!!

So, I have really committed myself to this new journey and will change my future and the future of my kids. (My husband is already in shape, but I probably shouldn't leave him behind! HAHA!)

We are going to check out the Y Thursday and see about joining. It isn't that much money and it is month to month which is what I like. I really don't want to get into any contracts. They seem to have a good program and there is a lot for our girls to do. My husband likes to use free weights, so I think it will be good for all of us.

Well, have to get back to work. I can't wait until Friday!!
