Default Foreman grill favorites anyone?

I just got a new toy this week....the George Foreman grill! My brother has one and keeps raving about it, so i broke down and bought one. Now I need recipes to cook! I did barbeque chicken a few nights ago, and it was great! I miss having a grill (we're out of gas for the outdoor one, and no one is really motivated to fix that right now)...and this is perfect!

Thanks!

Default grilled tuna salad sandwiches

1 can tuna, drained
1 tbsp. relish
1-2 tbsp. fat free mayo
mustard to taste
1 boiled egg, chopped (optional)
2 sl low cal bread

Mix tuna salad together +make a sandwich with the cheese + grill = yummy

I also like grilled (chunky) peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and good old fashioned grilled cheese sandwiches!

No recipes for the time being, but I have a little tip for you -

Those Foreman grills are a bigger pain in the butt to clean than they make them out to be. So what I do when I use mine is tear off 2 sheets of the nonstick aluminum foil and lay it on the grill while it's preheating (closing the lid, of course) and then just put my food in between the two sheets of nonstick foil to cook it.

Voila. I haven't had to clean the grill since

Or, to make cleaning easier, as soon as you're finished cooking, unplug the grill and lay 2 damp paper towels inside and close. When you're finished eating, all the food particles will easily wipe off.

Hey you guys, thank you for the tips!!
I quit using my grill because it was such a pain in the .....to clean. I cannot wait to try the paper towel tip as I do not hve the non-stick aluminum foil. Gads someone out there is a genius to have thought of something so darned clever.
thanks again,

I tried the paper towels before I went to the aluminum foil. Although it did make cleanup a little bit easier, it was still a pain if you cooked certain foods that 'cooked' themselves onto the grills surface, like meats.

I quit using mine too, even after trying the damp paper towel trick. It just wasn't worth it to me. Then I learned about the nonstick foil and I'm back to using my grill again. All you do is pull the foil off, toss it in the trash, and that's it. No wiping, no cleaning, no nothin

Smile I like mine...

I received a forman grill shortly after they came on the market. I love it! If you're having difficulty cleaning it, try this: when finished cooking, unplug grill - scrape with the scraper provided with your grill - while grill is still warm, wipe with a damp (or soapy and damp) paper towel - We've never had a problem cleaning it this way and we use it for everything.

Favorite: season chicken breast with garlic, onion, liquid smoke, etc and grill until done - slice chicken while grilling red and green peppers - walaa: chicken fajitas.

Thank you for your hints. I think I may not have cleaned as soon as the meat was off, and that was probably the reason it was such a pain to clean. I just found it was easier to just saute in a pan, than to have to pull it out and use, then when it was such a pain to clean, I have not use for a year or more. I will try again and implement your suggestions. thank you

I'm lazy, it's easier for me to just use the nonstick foil, lol.

If you don't get to it while it's still hot, just plug it in for a minute before it gets the towel treatment.

Is my blood sugar just too low? Do you mean to use cheese with the tuna too? And in the tradition of even more stupid questions: how long do you actually grill the sandwich? I can't believe I've never tried grilling a sandwich on mine!

Smile sandwiches on the grill

great questions. I would like to know too. If I am going to begin using my grill---- sandwiches are a big item in my house and the grill would be helpful.

I really like lightly brushing cut up bell pepper, pea pods, carrots and other veggies with a 1 part seasame oil 1 part rice vinegar mix and throwing them on the grill. Most of the leftover oil runs off and the good flavor gets seered into the veggies. It's an alternative to stir frying the veggies where they soak up more oil in a wok.
