Hi Everyone! My name is Kat. I'm a 29 yr old mother of one. I've had a bit of success with losing weight, and am ready to get serious for 2006!

Hi Kat. Have you chosen a programme to follow? What have you been doing so far? Maybe I can point you at some threads that you'll enjoy.

I think I am going to try calorie counting along with a food journal. I think that journaling will help me realize how much I am putting in my body everyday. Also it might help me make better food choices.

I'm on a tight budget and this seems to be the most economical route.

Any suggestions?

Kat,

You are doing great! You have lost 15 and only have 40 to go. Only 6 pounds and you will drop under 200.

How tall are you? I'm 5'9" and am not sure what a good, healthy goal weight should be for me. I always assumed it was 145 or 150, but I think I'd look like a bag of bones at that weight. I'm 243 now...ugh...

Well I used the weight calculator on this site http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/iwc

For my height I should be between 135-159 but....right now 165 feels good to me so that's what I am going to work for. I'll worry about the rest when i get there.

Thanks for the encouragement. I know I would never have lost the 15 without others cheering me on.

If you don't mind sharing...what are your goals?

According to that link, I should be 135-168. That's sounds about like what I've heard before. I'll shoot for 168. Actually, 199 sounds good for now!

It's weird how they figure that. According to that, my husband should weigh 147 - 183. At 195 he looks slender! I can't image him losing almost 50 more pounds!
