On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing
and they are making a lot of noise with their stomping! Maybe if I take down my decorations today this whole thing will stop!
It's cold in here this morning which means the wood stove needs some attention so I won't linger. You'd thing thos lazy dogs could throw in another log once in a while.
Whatcha doing today? Lots of folks are off work because of the holiday and stores are closed around here. I think I'll spend a day at home and contemplate my future.
Welcome to all the new folks. Please join us in the daily chat.
Hi everybody... just popped in to say howdy before hitting the sheets. we came back from our xmas holiday today.. unfortunately we had a scary incident at the beach in a tidal lake with my daughter, which seemed to marr our time away in the mountains... she cried to come home everyday
But we are back today and all tired.. I will have to check up on all of the threads tomorrow. I hope you are all well and safe after the silly season.
Ruthie: Put those stompin ladies to work punchin down some Grapes why dontcha!!!!!!
Marianna: I hope DD recovers from her trauma.. glad you had a good time in the mountains...
Today I am prunning the Lanterna and Butterfly bushes back and shaping them ..our neighbor tells us that we can expect the Daffodils to come up in FEBRUARY! Wow, Southin' living is surrrre different! I remember getting too excited to plant and would do it the end of April or beginning of May in NJ..only to have to run out and Cover them and fret when we had frost in the morning! DH can't wait to begin preparing the ground for seeding..and will be looking fer a tiller today.
Also, must go into the attic, and search through BOXES of books to look fer the SB book fer DH. ( I keep the GCGF on hand, but sigh packed the book away when we moved.)
But right now Gotta refill my cawfeee mug, and enjoy my daily crossword puzzle.!
I am going ot go into work and clean my desk and file some papers before the kids return back tomorrow. We are expecting a storm here in Boston so we may get one more day from school tomorrow. It would be a nice treat, but I do not want to be in school in the summer or saturdays to make up snow days like last year.
Morning everyone.....yes I am up earlier than usual. I have decided to work out more - so at 7:30 I got up & got on the gazelle for 45 mins! I WILL LOSE WEIGHT THIS YEAR!!! I have a trip to Key West in May, gotta look good!
Off to shower & get to work....have a great OP day!!
**Has anyone seen the sbd booklet that they are handing out at the grocery? I think Kraft is sponsering it....made the spinach pie from there the other day....pretty good - will post later.
Goodmorning all, thanks Ruthie for washing and drying my towel and fleecy is my fav. I have missed you all, I have started a new job 5 weeks ago so, I am not on the puter near as much. I am going to take my SBD book with me today and re read it. Then will have to get to the store for supplies sometime this week. I plan on making a new start next monday.
A big Hello to everyone, Sorry my first post is kinda of short but I have to get into the shower and then dh is driving me to work before he goes to his mothers to pick up the kids they have been gone since Christmas night.
Morning Ladies
I'm going to be bad and crawl back into bed. Dh was spraypainting his model boat in the basement (at 3 AM mind you) and we had to open all the windows b/c he didn't realize there would be fumes.
Ruth part of me wishes our stores would close! There's no sense of holiday here. (thenagain No grocery would mean no op food for tommorrow!)
Marriana: I'm sure your little girl will feel much better now that you all are at home
Schatzi you're giving me flower envy!
Chili Stay warm and be careful with the crazy storm!
Soon you are kicking some Bootay this morning
Littlechick welcome back!
WE have alot to do today grocery, one more trip to the mall for the elusive dinner dance outfit (in our mall thats close they think unless your anorexic you don't get to dress up) cleaning and putting things away

Kierie
Well Its going be day one on Phase 1,hope this time around I lose the last 10 once and for all.
Ruth-We have our gas fireplace insert on this morn. Its cold up here, hopeful we will get a mild winter this year.
Schatzi-Wish I could say the same, about starting our garden .We have to wait until June to start planting. Somehow our tomatoes never grow right like they did by in New York, planting a month early around Mothers Day.
Chilichick-Keep your storm in Boston ,don't want it on the Cape. We're going to have another Nor'easter tomorrow.Hoping for a mild winter also, espeically with the high gas & heating prices.
Soon-Have to chcked out the grocery stores for the sbd booklet. I get the 5 free mags from Kraft and I use the friendly recipes.
Good Morning to all, I just found out I have to work today, so I've been running around trying to get some things done before I go. We thought the girls had another vacation day today since all the public schools are closed, but Cindy double-checked and they do have school. They both go to private schools, and are on a different schedule. So since she's going Fox-Hunting I have to pick up the girls at noon, and probably take Audrey to her swim lesson at 5. Looks like it will be a long day for me.
I started Phase 1 today with scrambled eggs w/salsa. I have some chicken breasts in the oven now and will take one with me with some spagetti squash for supper, and have a salad w/ tuna for lunch. I have to pay attention to how much water I drink, it's hard for me in the cold months, I'd rather have tea or coffee. Curves was closed this morning, but I plan to go everyday starting tomorrow.
I'm back at work today. For some reason my company decided to give us last Thurs and Friday off instead of Friday/Monday. There was very little traffic on the drive in to work. Brian goes back to school tomorrow but day care is closed today so he stays home with DH today.
Last night's dinner was Stewed Chicken with Saffron from the Quick and Easy Cookbook along with Mushroom Medley. Tonight I am going to fix Thai Beef with String Beans (and asparagas). I've got leftover hot and sour soup for lunch, red pepper strips and spicy hummus, raw zucchini, and plain yogurt with Spenda and cinnamon for snacks. I've been drinking my milk (with SF chocolate syrup added for flavor) and haven't been having any headaches. I have been having mushrooms and Southwest Eggbeaters for breakfast and am ready for a change so I might try fixing some of the breakfast cheesecake. Breakfast is the hardest meal for me when I'm on phase 1.
For some reason I'm having a hard time posting this am. I'm sure it is my computer system and not 3FC. We are just pulling the computers out of boxes since the move and I'm actually using my assistant's computer this morning.
So how is everyone doing this am? Sounds pretty OP so far. I wanted to try my homemade organic yougurt this morning so that is what I had for breakfast. AND IT WAS SUPER GOOD! But now I must say bye bye to my homemade yougurt for awhile while I detox the sugar out of my body.
Hope everyone does well today! I'm in a bit of bind cause I was planning on eating lunch at home but my assistant called in sick and now I'm stuck at work with no diet food. I must be brave and improvise!
Yes it seems to be the dilemma of organics. I spent $132.00, for stuff for DS and I. I'm trying to just purchase the stuff I consume on a regular basis like my SBD vinagrette, cottage cheese etc. My grocery store is Meijer and if you don't live in MI, IL, OH, KY and WI you probably don't know who they are. They are a competitor of the super Walmarts but they have always been known for their produce. They are working hard to incorporate organics into their stores and have a large produce section, dairy and dry goods. Other products I go to the HF store. The local HFS said that we can buy a share of an organic dairy cow and get milk delivered just like the milk man used to do. I think that is so cool! I just figured if I bought what we consume the most - for me coffee is a good example - that could help with the overall toxins. It is good to start the kids on organics early cause I have a hard time with DS sometimes because things don't taste the same.
Hello everybody! I'm off today, thank God. My shoulder is still sore from lifting weights 2 days ago and I was really tired so I'm glad I got to sleep in. Back to work, regular hours, tomorrow. Sigh...
Ruth: Be careful when you say "dogs" and "log" in the same sentence. Oscar and Sophie might leave you a different kind of "log".
Mariana: Hope your daughter will be ok.
Schatzo: Sounds really nice down in NC. I hate it being so cold.... although today it's 51 and severe thunder storms here. January 2nd. Crazy!
Chili: Hope you don't get too much snow!
Soon: Key West in May? I'm going in June! Is it your first time, or have you been before? I used to go every summer, but then I got engaged so I missed a year, and then I got married so I missed another year, and this year I'm going! It will have been 3 years for me, and it has just been killing me. Dad has been 3 times in the last 5 months, and if he weren't going to the Bahamas in March and Ireland in June, he'd go in the next month or so again. Too bad you're going a month before. Maybe next year we can plan a get-together at Sloppy Joe's!
Little chick: Welcome back girl!
KO: I watched Mythbusters in my jammies yesterday too! I love that show. It cracks me up, and you don't feel like you're learning. That's the best kind.
Beachbum: Good luck on Ph1! Hope you lose that last 10 this year.
Cottage: Good luck with Ph1! Your food just sounds wonderful (it might be time for me to go eat something!)
Barb: Your food also sounds excellent. I'm going to starve before I get my post done!
Anchor: Good luck scrounging for healthy food while at work. It's really hard, isn't it?? There have been days that I've left my packed lunch sitting on the kitchen table and have gotten to work without breakfast, lunch, or snacks, and it's Pizza Day at school. Ugh. Stay strong!
As for me, today will be a day of resting my shoulder, doing laundry so Terry has workout clothes for tonight, and watching TV. I'm going to rest while I still can. Tomorrow begins my whirlwind again and I'm really not looking forward to it. Terry and I are doing a Step Aerobics class tonight and then lifting weights again. I need to eat something so I can take some Advil for my shoulder. I know I didn't do anything serious to it. It's just not used to having to do work, since it hasn't been worked in..... years?
Hi to all, Happy New Year! We're finally getting the promised snow storm that we haven't had for 2 weeks! Rained for Christmas and New Years so this white stuff is a nice treat!
Put on my yaktrax and went running this morning. Not as good as in the summer but at least it's outside. I hate breathing inside air........I know I do have issues.
Ruth, hopefully the dogs make up for their laziness by just being cute!
Marianna, sorry you had a blip in your holiday. It probably is nice to be home.
Schatzi, if you could PLEASE refrain from talking about tilling the garden.................. I'm months away from that and I too have flower envy!
chilichick, get your papers filed then have a nice cup of something hot, put on a movie and enjoy your last vacation day.......sigh. It's so hard to go back to work.
soon2b, cool with the gazelle workout. Those look so fun on TV.
littlechick, welcome back, Ruth is good about keeping our towels clean isn't she?
KO, wow, some people do that sniffing glue thing on purpose. Glad you're OK
crk, Happy New Year to you too!
Beach Bum, Happy New YEar to you, good luck on Day one of Phase one......I'll be watching you lose your last 10 pounds.
cottage, your menu sounds great. I need to do that!
Barb, sounds like you are ready to attack phase one as well. You guys are inspiration for me.
Anchor, I wish I could send you an OP meal. Sorry you're stuck at work.
Weezle, you sound like an exercising maniac. Good for you. A little motrin and you'll be as good as new.
Well, as for me, dh is home for one more day. We've sure enjoyed our holiday time together. He said that things at work this year will be hairy, starting with a trip to MN next week and probably a trip to the East Coast once a month......oh well. Today, we'll go grocery shopping, he's doing phase one with me. We're trying to figure out some foods he can take on his trip next week and still stay OP. We'll probably also go see a matinee and hold hands
Family and friends all left yesterday and I was able to rid the house of bad food right down to the last homemade cheeseball. No crackers, candy, breads................whew!
All of you have a great day and we'll be seeing you a lot more often.
