Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again.. #799

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Welcome back to all the ladies who have been MIA. It's so good to see you back here!

Congrats to all of you who have had any loss this year! And, congrats to those who keep trying, despite health issues, setbacks, etc. It takes a lot of effort to keep going when you feel like the odds are stacked against you.

It seems a lot of people are still ill and/or have health issues that they are going through. I hope you all feel better very soon!

Angelia, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know this must be a very rough time for you and your husband. If you need anything, I'm certain everyone here is more than willing to lend a shoulder and/or an ear.

Ammi & Shadie, I have to say, I'm SO glad to see you back! You've been such a wonderful inspiration to many people.

Catherine, I can't wait to see pictures of the dress! You've gotten a lot done in a fairly short amount of time. Wow! Your big day is coming up very soon!

Angela, congrats on getting into nursing school, and congrats even more for the possibility of other little feet running around at Christmas in the next couple years!

I'm sorry, I just browsed through the last few days, so I'm sure I'm missing something. You're all in my thoughts though, and I promise I will be back to making regular replies soon.

My biopsy & colposcopy has been rescheduled for two weeks from now. Hopefully then, I will be able to start focusing on all the other little nagging details that I haven't been able to focus on very well. I'm not nearly as nervous, and I'm at the point where I'd rather just get it over with. Whatever happens, we'll deal with and we'll move on.

I gained a couple pounds with the holidays too, but I'm not officially weighing in until after TOM so we'll see what the end result is. I don't think I did too badly, so I'm not stressing it. Either way, I've lost more in the last year than any other weight loss attempt. Next year will be no different!

Brandnewme, I wish you luck with the colonoscopy. My mother is just about done with her chemotherapy for colon cancer...I hope you don't have to go through that...

I did my measurements today, and boy were they scary!

Tried on some jeans at Walmart last night, and I lose about 20 more pounds, and they'll not only FIT, but look decent! Well, the 26s fit, but they looked horrible! (I have NO butt)...lol

I really need to join a gym or something, as it's so COLD out, I really can't get out and DO much during the winter. The YMCA is so EXPENSIVE! It's about $300 a year for a BASIC membership! Eeeps! I only work PART TIME, so that's not really doable. Have any of you ever tried Curves? I was thinking about looking into it, but I wanted to get some feedback from REAL people, first!

Kayley-the Y has scholarships. Just take a copy of your 1040 and pay stub in and they will cut it way down. Some will give you a free membership, and some make you pay a token amount so that you will "own" the program. My health insurance company pays for my membership. A lot will now, but you have to ask.

I finished the trim on the gown, and just finished stitching the sleeves, and sleeve linings together. Next comes the trim on the sleeve, then sewing the undersleeve, and then sewing the sleeve to the gown, and then the bottom hem, and then the trim on the bottom, and then I will be done, and collapse. Gee, and I thought I was almost done.

Thanks, Catherine! I will definately have to look into that! Although, there's the whole "mom can still claim me as a dependant, as I'm a full time student, even though I'm 19 years old thing"...but I'll definately have to do some research!!!! I wish you the best of luck with finishing your gown on time! I'm sure it will be beautiful.

I talked to my fiance, and we are both going to go to the YMCA, and see about getting one of the scholarships (if they offer them in our area). It'd be great if we could both go, because then I wouldn't feel as awkward as I would going alone, and I'd have a workout buddy. I can't wait until spring, so I can get OUT of the house, and enjoy the weather again! Exercise is much easier then!

hi to the new people and the returners!! its always fun with more people

ammi - so glad you are back. you are in my thoughts. especially when i come to vegas! one day we will have buffet day and eat all the salad and crab legs we can handle. (no butter tho)

catherine - as an avid crafter i cant WAIT to see your dress.

everyone else. have a happy holiday!!

for those of you that were looking for the calorie counter programs - i LOVE fitday.com. its online and you can access it anywhere. you can also add foods that arent in thier EXTENSIVE database. you can track your activity and you can journal. its quite nice. and free

Default New Year

Happy New Year to everyone, we can still say that, right?

Moving is aggravating. I am going to be "homeless" for about a week while my stuff is en route to California. So, I will have to figure out something to do with my workout. I usually have such a positive outlook on things, but being the planner that I am, dealing with all of the outsourced, outsourcers, who outsource the outsourcing sucks. One hiccup or question comes up and they are like, uh, I dunno, I will have to check with my boss, who will check with the mover, who will check with the transporter, who will check with the assigner who will check with the relocation company who will check with your company.

Okay, I don't usually vent and I am so glad that each of you are here because I know that as I try to find my footing you will be there for me.

Have a GREAT new year!

Bah, woke up this morning with a cold. I thought yesterday afternoon's slight slore throat was only due to the dry office air, but now it's gotten worse and has brought along friends (a full head and runny nose). Happy New Year to me At least it makes me NOT feel like eating everything in sight, so there's a sunny side to being sick after all

Good morning everyone (actually it is afternoon by now – the I always stay up too late and sleep too late during holidays). I weighed in this morning and am down by 2 pounds from last week, and it puts me down a total of 10. I am feeling very good this morning, but we are about to hit to road to visit my boyfriend’s parents for the weekend. I plan to enjoy myself over the New Year and not worry too much. I am bringing my laptop so hopefully I will be able to check in.

Regarding Fitday, does anyone use the actual program rather than the online version? I was wondering what the differences are. I have been checking out several different programs and each has a little something different missing. Do you know if you can you assign meals and times in the Fitday program, and can you enter things online and then download them? Also, is it easy to print things out? I would like to be able to save my info somewhere else – like create a book as a permanent record and I don’t think you can print in the online version.

Thanks, and I hope everyone has a great Friday!

I print things from the online version all the time--our TOPS chapter gives prizes/rewards for people who bring in their food journals for at least 5 days a week, so I print out my menus every day. I just highlight the section I want to print and click on File > Print and change the "page range" to Selection so it only prints what I highlight.

Hi ladies - this is the Reader's Digest version of my life:
Fell off horse Wednesday. Very sore but did a lazy routine at Curves Thursday. Weighed in Friday. Still very sore, but better so worked out a little harder.

What? Result of the weigh-in? sigh... Could have been MUCH worse, but anyway, it's down 1 1/2 pounds for the whole month of December. My BMI was down 3/4 of a point, too.

HEY LOOK!!! It's almost JANUARY!!! Time to kick it up in high gear and do like a Honda or whatever it is that goes zoom zoom zoom! Anyway, off to New York for a coupla days. See u when I get back!
