Default Sugar and Sugar Substitute-Free Cookies!

I haven't tried these yet - I will update when I do! I picked ones that got a few good ratings. I'm bringing these with me to my parent's house this weekend so that I have another option instead of going overboard with real sweets.

Over Thanksgiving I made stuff with Splenda - yum! If I can, I'd like to learn to not even eat the sugar substitutes! Anyone else have good recipes without them?

Healthy Banana Cookies
3 ripe bananas
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup dates, pitted and chopped *Reviewer said she used raisins instead.
1/3 cup vegetable oil *Reviewers said they used unsweetened applesauce or peanut butter instead
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in oats, dates, oil, and vanilla. Mix well, and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly brown.

No Bake Bumpy Peanut Butter Nuggets

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 cup unsweetened flaked coconut
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice concentrate, thawed

Combine peanut butter milk powder and coconut in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. Stir in oats, ground cinnamon, wheat germ and apple juice concentrate.
Shape into 1 inch balls. Chill thoroughly before serving. Store refrigerated. Cal - 46, Fat - 2.9, Carb - 3.8, Protein - 1.9

If anyone makes these before I do - lemme know how they turn out!!

I made both of these - I made the Banana ones with sugar free peanut butter instead of veggie oil. Both came out REALLY good

thanks for the recipes! I have a digestive disorder and i can't have artificial sweeteners like splenda or sorbitol. It's great to find recipes with out them and without sugar!

Bananas and dates are actually loaded with sugar. Fructose is as much sugar as any other -ose.

I just tried the banana cookies and they weren't bad. Mel's right that sugar is sugar but at least these the banana and dates pack some nutritional value into the cookie as opposed to plain old sugar.

Mine came out a little dry so next time I'll add a bit more banana and probably throw in some cinnamon and/or nutmeg. Also, they didn't spread at all so I suggest shaping them a bit before baking.
