EVERYBODY UP!
How's that for a Schatzi imitation?

I am now officially in the Christmas Spirit and it's about time! Yesterday two of my darling men friends, Rob and John, got me a prelit tree when they were in town, it's set up and friend Wendy and her wee girls are coming after lunch to decorate it! Yahoo! As some of you know, it's been a rough year and I was really having trouble getting enthused about Christmas and life in general. Now I need to get the brain in gear about ditching this upholstery!

This morning I take off for Kingston to get the stitches out of my gums. There may be a slight infection there as I'm sore and have a bit of an earache. Antibiotics please, Doc! After that, I will do a grocery shop at the SuperStore, providing DK (damned knee) is up for it. She had better be because she managed to kneel in Church yesterday - first time in over a year!

Whatcha doing today? Remember to save a space on your schedule for YOU!

Atta girl, Ruth! I'm so glad you are feeling better! Now to get that gum infection taken care of, and you'll be good as new. for your knee, letting you be able to kneel again, that must mean the surgery was a success!

I've given myself a day off from Curves, I just feel like loafing around this morning. We had a great time at my brother's yesterday with all my family there, and stayed a lot later than we planned to. Ate too much, and drank too much!) but had a lot of fun.

Good morning, Chicklets~~

I'm awake, my mood is good, despite the fact that somehow my poor dieffenbachia got beheaded when I wasn't looking. It had to have been in the last several days when dh moved it to have the carpet installed. I discovered it this morning and spent several minutes searching for a vase to plunk the poor thing's head in to try and resprout it. I've done it before, so maybe it will work again.

Breakfast ended up being cheese toast (lf American on ww bread). I not only fell off the wagon yesterday, I ran in the opposite direction. It was our annual handspinners guild party. There wasn't a single solitary item on the table that was SBD friendly--I took one look, threw up my hands and said "what the ****" and dove in face first.

Eat, Drink and be Merry For Tomorrow, We Diet!!

It was all I could do not to laugh at the lonely 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke, though.

It wasn't all bad, though...I sold about $100 worth of my alpaca roving. It was enough to pay for the processing and the new digital kitchen scale I bought, so the rest, when I sell it will be put away for a new spinning wheel for me.

For whatever reason, hubby is on a salad kick. And salads are still playing havoc with my innards. Doesn't it just figure? I want steamed broccoli and he wants romaine. So tonight we'll compromise. He'll get his salad, I'll have my steamed broccoli and we'll both have broiled chicken breast.

Well, gotta go brush my teeth and run a brush through my hair.

Ruth, you take care of that knee. Go do your shopping but use the courtesy scooters if they offer them. And good luck with your gums. Infections are no fun. I had 2 when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I looked like Mrs. Potato Head for a week.

Have a great day on the Beach everyone~~

Good morning all!

Ruth - glad DK is feeling better! Enjoy your tree decorating!

cottage - enjoy your day of R & R!

Mamacita - congrats on the sale of your yarn! Sorry you're having to cook seperate things for you and your DH - I hope your tum recovers soon! Is this still from the food poisoning? That must have been some serious food poisoning to be affecting you for so long! Hope you're totally recovered soon, though!

Schatzi - falalalalalalala to you! Have fun wrapping - I bet that as craftsy as you are, you wrap beee-yoo-tee-full-y!

Me - I need to finish up my shopping, hopefully today. I couldn't get DH what he wanted (the stores were out of it), and he was incredibly unhelpful with additional ideas. So finally I told him I'd peruse the tool department and just pick some stuff, and if he didn't like it, we could exchange it. I did pick up a few cd's at Borders, but then I found that he already has one of them (I don't listen to most of his music). So I'll exchange it and get a different one.

I went off-plan for dinner last night. I was feeling lousy for some reason - something at lunch disagreed with me, I guess. I didn't feel at all like the taco salad I had planned on, though. All that sounded like it would be okay on my tummy was toasted cheese sammiches and chicken soup - so DH made that for dinner while I rested and watched DS. We had a nice visit with MIL earlier - it really wore DS out, too. When he and DH came back from taking MIL home, he was really crabby and ready for a nap. DH put him down and he slept for an hour or so there, then insisted on getting up - but he fell right back asleep as soon as I snuggled down on the sofa with him, and he slept off and on almost the entire afternoon and evening. In spite of his "power nap", though, he still slept well last night! It was a busy weekend for my boy, I guess!

Have a good day, chickies!

Good morning, everyone!

I had a pretty good weekend. I survived a Saturday night holiday party pretty much unscathed. I was proud of myself! I cheated a bit yesterday because I was at Panera and really REALLY wanted a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I didn't eat the bread roll that came with it though. I passed it on to a friend who was happy to eat it! AND I survived a trip to the bowling alley with a bunch of people from church! The nacho chips and fries were flowing and I didn't touch even one.

Also got a lot of exercising done. The weather was beautiful, so my mother and I took her doggies out to the park to walk - 4 miles on Saturday, 2.5 on Sunday. The (slightly) cold air was invigorating! I don't have a very busy week coming up. Half of my research group has gone away for Christmas so it's just me and a couple of other people and probably some evil fattening cookies that some "merciful" soul will drop off for us!

Have a great day everyone!

Ruth - glad to hear that your DK is starting to feel a bit better! I hope your recovery from the gum surgery continues to go well. Antibiotics are definitely a good thing...

Cottage - I hope you have a wonderful morning off!

Mamacita - I'm glad you had a good time at the guild party! Tomorrow is another day!

Schatzi - how wonderful that you're seeing results from all your hard work! I hope your knee feels better soon.

H-Ko - good luck with the rest of your shopping!

Morning, gals! I was very bad at a holiday party on Saturday. But, boy did it taste good! Oh, well, back OP afterwards. I tried a recipe from the new SB cookbook last night. It was fish cooked in parchment paper on top of diced tomatoes and matchstick zucchini with grilled vegetable tapenade on top. DH and I both loved it and it was so easy to make. I served it over cabbage for me/rice for him and we ate sesame asparagus with it.

TOM should arrive today which means my weight was not good this morning. Oh, well, the parties are done and I've a week of mostly phase 1 meals planned.

Good morning ladies,

I don't want to talk about the weekend. I was horrible. A birthday dinner and a family party. I just don't deserve to even have a spot for my towel. I did make it back to the gym on Saturday and have plans for a max muscle class tonight at 6:00. (made an appt with with Glenn at work, so.. can't skip!)

My birthday dinner was not only disasterous for the diet, but my dear mom fell. It was a dimmed restaurant and there was a step up to the tables that we were at. Mom forgot about the step on the way to the bathroom. She fell down, twisted her ankle, broke her glasses, cut her cheek, bruised a hip and hurt her knee. I was devastated. I felt so bad for her. I could she was stunned, in pain and she seemed so fragile. (This feeling of my mom being fragile is never seen by me.) She got her wits about her and her cheek quit bleeding. She pulled herself together. I went and got her spare glasses and she stuck out the dinner and was ever so charming. My mom is wonderful! The restaurant didn't even so much as discount our meal. They didn't do an accident report and didn't even take her name. She called back the next day and insisted they at least fix her glasses.

Yesterday at the party, she was sore, but fine. Thank goodness. She returns to work today. The party went off well. There were lots of illegal sweets. My cousins didn't say ONE word about my weight loss. *pout* I finally started TOM. So, I am hoping my energy level and motivation with return soon!

I just got my bloodtest results in the mail today. They didn't give me my numbers. I called back to get them, but now I don't think I wrote them down right. My cholesterol went from 199 to 236 (do you think it could have been something I ate before the test?) My Triglycerides went from 221 to 96. And my HDL (good) went from 49 to 39. LDL(bad) went from 106 to 78. These numbers have me all confused. Can someone help me decipher? The Dr's office said the results were "normal". I asked the nurse if I wrote down the total cholesterol down right and she said, "Yes, they are a "little" elevated." A LITTLE ELEVATED??? That was up higher than the original HIGH reading! I was so hoping to see good numbers all the way around.

Okay, other than that. I have plans to go back to phase 1 after the holidays for the detox. I will join that thread.

I hope everyone is ready for me to move my towel back in.

Dana - Good to hear your mom is okay. It is hard to view parents as getting older. Good for you for exercising! I finally made it to Powerflex class on Saturday. I hadn't been in over a month and I am SOOOOO sore! We did squats and my leg muscles make is hard to get up and down. I've decided to stop at a different location on the way home so I can use the hot tub. This location also has a track which is more fun to walk on than the treadmill. Don't worry about your spot on the beach. Remember, the important thing is that we not use our slipups as an excuse to keep eating badly.

Djett - There will always be a place for your towel here! I'm sorry about your weekend, but I'm glad your mum's okay. Lousy restaurant! They should at least have given her a free dessert or drink or something! I hope someone sues them someday.
